This is a Channel that will have content from a newbie RC flyer. A focus on things I have learned as I go and a few flights along with anything else that I think is interesting to share.
Short and to the point, awesome and thanks. Btw any idea if the pan servo degree osd element will work on this? It's the one on the bottom right on the osd tab, it shows how much your pan servo is moved and also if it's off centered
Ok so for anybody in the future who reads this. If you're having issues with the com port 3 and you're getting "failed to read the MULTI-module", you have to use a USB-C cord that does data transfer. I used two USB-C cords and none of them worked, I had to pull out a cord that I used in my car for android auto. A good indicator is if it has blue on the inside of the USB and not white.
Ive installed eveything wtfos 606 firmware on goggles air unit still no osd i can get battery voltage. And font font bin flashes up then goes away. Any extra points or tips would be amazing. Thanks in advance. Wings all setup just no osd :( tx and rx are corrext as i can see battey voltage
@@romulusfpv mate we're not all JB or RC Video Reviews etc. I searched and your video came up, and was super helpful. Then l noticed l was subbed already and remembered it was from your FPV.WTF video from memory. The weird part is l came back to reply to your comment and it showed me as not subscribed, good job RU-vid (certainly not the first time with various channels) happy flying 😀
@@romulusfpv yah, I dunno. It says flash was successful. Maybe a firmware update, added it? I put the *. Bin file in a "FIRMWARE" folder that I had to create on the root of the Tango 2 sdcard. Went into the Tango 2, held the "menu" button, pressed "page", went to the "FIRMWARE" folder, found the file, held the jog wheel, and it gave me the option to "Flash ext-module"
Thank you soo much for this video I was looking everywhere to figure out what I did wrong. This has my module working as it should 🎉Appreciate your commitment to hobby your a real Gem brother!!!
Thanks. It’s a terrible video I did it quick on a Saturday before family was up. I saw a ton of posts about how to update due to a tbs tx that doesn’t use agent. I appreciate your kind words. Hope you have a great 2023 flying.
For me when trying to write the firmware it says "couldn't open port COM3", if I try with COM4 and COM5 it says "failed to read the MULTI-module". Do you know any fix?
@@TheCabanamancan here is a how to guide github.com/benlye/flash-multi . The update. Maybe this will help As well the link to the multi protocol rc group. www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2165676-DIY-Multiprotocol-TX-Module/page1572 Other wise you can message fpvknowitall Joshua Bardwell joshuabardwell@fpvknowitall.com
Ok I started from scratch today and ran into a com port issue. I had to go to device manager and find the device and update the driver. here is the link to the driver www.silabs.com/developers/usb-to-uart-bridge-vcp-drivers
Hi ! Thanks for video ! I am stuck on the reading mpm.. it fails to read the flash memory . Drivers installed an it sees com port but can’t communicated with module . Did you have this issue ?
Hi! I have followed your instructions to the letter. But on the Flash Multi v0.6.1 app, after i searched and set my firmware file on the browser window, i can't see the COM3 port on the dropdown box (right beside the Refresh button. I kept refreshing it, but nothing appears. I have installed the USB driver for it too. Can you please help me how i can i make the COM3 appear, so i can click on the Write Module button? Thanks
Hi Sorry for the delay. A couple of things to check is if you have another software that is picking up the com port. For example if I have cura slicer 3d printing software running the flasher app wont find my com port. Close all other applications and try again. What computer are you using and what operating system
@@romulusfpv This is a brandnew laptop i just bought a week ago. There is nothing on it, probably except a usb cable for my drones (Betaflight), and my bluetooth mouse dongle.
@@herphermits hmm if beta flight detects the com ports then maybe uninstall the flashing firmware. Also click on he serial port and pick com 3 it doesn’t automatically select the port. And also are you connecting the computer directly to the mpm?
Great walkthrough! Can you link your 3D print hatch component. The only thing I would add is tape your wings to the body to stop the screws ripping the body on a hard “landing”
