Hello and welcome to The Modern Dandy! This is a menswear/hobby/etiquette/lifestyle/philosophy/autism/vlogging channel all about living life to its fullest in a classically elegant and distinctly individual way! Expect somewhat erratic uploads but a genuine, passionate host.
Your rules about what's acceptable to wear and when and what color are absolutely ridiculous. If you want to wear a linen ivy cap in the summer with a t-shirt and shorts do it it's comfortable you look fine matter of fact you would look more out of place trying to dress like an English guy from the 1850s.
The Flat Cap (narrow) is from Yorkshire in England. Scotsmen wear a bonnet cap and Irish men a Firkin or Tam o' Shanter. The "Peaky Blinders" cap is called a Newsboy or Baker Boy Cap and has a wide, segmented top with a central button.
Just wanted to point out that it’s not hard to find decent quality cotton and linen flat caps that are great for summer wear as well, there’s no reason not to wear them year round if you like the style. Personally I’ve found that the Newsboy looks best on me out of all classic hats and I have several on linen, cotton and wool. And if we look at old adverts they wore linen and cotton caps back then too.
That 3 piece combination was STRIKING! What a well dressed gentleman! Am looking for a low profile ivy, Leather inside on forehead area for comfort and comfortable fapriqe. Would really appreciate any help on this matter.
Flat caps are cheap if you shop for them on Amazon. Most if not all flat caps on Amazon are cheaply made "made in China" caps. I don't know about some people but I take pride into buying a flat cap and I only buy quality made ones that are either made here in the US or UK, Ireland, or Scotland. A GOOD quality made flat cap will cost around $40-$60. If you're looking for quality made flat caps I highly recommend checking out Poe & Company and Weavers of Ireland. I've bought flat caps from them several times and theyre great.
I’m getting into wearing flat caps and I have taken your advice and sticking with the colors you recommend. So far I have a grey flat cap and getting two more of different colors in soon. I really like these caps. They are very comfortable to wear. Great video. Take care. Cheers!
DO YOU AND YOUR CHANNEL STILL HOLD THE OPINION THAT TO BE INVOLVED IN DANDYISM THAT WORK IS A BASE PURSUIT AT OFDS AND CANNOT EXSIST INSIDE A PERSON WHO IS VEERING TOWARDS THE DANSY LIFESTYLE. IS THAT STILL A SORT OF UNCHANGED IR WILL NEVER CHANGE CORE DANDY PRINCIPLE? From there I see endless possibility between Dandy and the brilliant open ended Dandy Morderne to sweedebourg and HOW SHALL WE THEN LIVE? Absolutely it is within this scope to go there and no not beyond the natural .
Some people want to be stereo typed and proud of their heritage. Those cheap flat caps do a misjustice . Boston Scally hats are quality. Also JJ Hat center NYC.
Imagine if fashion blogs actually read to appeal to that mindset. "In my opinion a navy suit is the best first suit because in my opinion it's more versatile and in my opinion it makes you look younger and in my opinion that's good so in my opinion you should buy it". Adding a qualifier after every opinion would double the length of the video. I think maybe one in five hundred people who get that comment actually think their opinion is fact. I've honestly never met someone who does.
