Awesome VLOG guys and congratulations! In my last comment to you guys I said that my wife and small children climbed Mt. Fuji, but forgot to mention we never made it to the Summit. We made it to station 7. It was very windy and the small lava rock pebbles kept getting in my kids eyes so we made our way back down. It was also super slippery as your VLOG shows and we almost fell down several times. While we were a little disappointed we did not make it to the top, at least we can say "we climbed" Mt. Fuji right? After seeing your VLOG, I'm so glad we made the decision we did! Good luck on your PCS back to the States! BTW, any chance you can extend?
Thank you. I can understand turning around at that point. I took my glasses off a few times and got stuff in my eyes immediately. You climbed Mount Fuji higher than most people!! My extension window has passed, but we are ready for the next adventure.
@@gabeandmaddy Wish you could have stayed longer. If you have not already, be sure to visit all the castles on Okinawa, especially Katsuren Castle. Talk about a "panoramic view". There is also a place called "Mama San" beach near there. The drive there is spectacular! Enjoy the rest of your time and hope you can keep up the great VLOGS!
Wow, this is such an exciting and fun vlog! It feels like I’m right there with you guys, the experience is so vivid! Japan is truly the best. It makes me miss it so much!
Please don't come to Japan. Foreigners have bad manners and commit crimes. The more foreigners there are, the more chaotic it becomes. Foreigners are not necessary in Japan.Honestly chiseled faces are disgusting.
We love renting cars on mainland since we drive everywhere while living in Okinawa! While also using public transportation is super convenient and nice, rental cars are super nice for remote areas we like to visit!
I just have to say I have been on a kick of watching all of your guises videos. And I love and appreciate your guises content so much. I’m getting ready to join my husband in Okinawa soon. And one of our housing options is the base you guys live on. Because there’s no housing on the base he works on. My husband is in the Marines. and I just want to say you guys have been so informative. Have made my anxiety about going melt away so much. And have given me so many date ideas I really appreciate you guys.
Hi.. I can make a running shoe recommendation for you from many years as a competitive track athlete: Saucony. They are light and super comfy for running from day one. Hoka shoes are great for prolonged walking or standing though.
Hi Gabe! Cool video. Enjoyed seeing the same places my wife and I have been (Yokota and Fussa) and looking forward to your Fuji trip with Maddy too. My wife and kids did that also.
Thank you! It was my first time ever at Yokota, so I had fun. I wish Maddy was there to hang out with me, but thats the military! I am very impressed that your kids did Fuji. It kicked our butts
It is against the rules to film the flight line, jets, tail numbers, etc. I’ve read over the public affairs site and there don’t appear to be any rules about filming/photos at public base facilities! Thank you for your OPSEC diligence.
I was a kid in Okinawa between 2009-2013, me and my friends would always walk from KMS to the BX after school! I remember the Hello Kitty shop, the Baskin robin and the Halloween path/clue stickers the put on the floor to find across the store. I miss those childhood days so much and thank you for unlocking some nostalgia for me. That BX is where I tried Popeyes for the first time (was stationed in England before Japan!)
If our math is right, the Costco bananas are the cheapest! The on base bananas do last longer, but we are curious if that's because of preservatives or something. Not that we notice a flavor difference or anything though.
We're going to Okinawa Nov. 1, it's our first visit. Trying to book a single tee time at the course but, can't find the english version on website. Can you advise. thanks
There are services that will book for you, at a small fee. If you don't want to pay the fee like me, I normally just call the course to book (you need to know a bit of Japanese for that). This website can convert to english and you can book online here. You'll see the days and time slots, as well as how many open slots there are. booking.pacificgolf.co.jp/?p=guide.coursecalendar&cc_id=138
