I've listened to a lot of covers of Memphis Underground and this is definitely one of the best in that it captures the laid back groove of the original. I love how Karl Denson starts off his solo giving his take on the first few bars of the original. Well done.
If you get the chance. Tedeschi trucks band is definitely a worthwhile show! Loved the whole band. The dual drummers dtum solo was intense the horns. Backup singers and Dereks flawless guitar. Will do again !!!
@@avatar90404 She didn't write it it was written for Aretha Franklin who recorded it but didn't release it so they gave it to dusty.and this is good as any I've ever heard.
andrednz guys, isn't she Susan Tedeschi in the beginning of her career? If so, there's a video here on youtube of her singing Kozmic Blues by Janis Joplin. Search for it :)
Mind blowing!! Thanks for posting. I came here from Bassman Bob Babbitt's F/B fan page. He's laying down the bottom line groove as he did at as a Motown Funk Bro and for many other top singers.
Thought I would comment on a few of the comments. As far as the drummer goes-We should all be so lucky to Have the great Steve Ferrone keping the groove. I would say that if he's good enough for Tom Petty,Chaka Kahn,Average White Band He's good enough for me.
