The report fails to acknowledge that Chinatowns in America exist because "Orientals" were not welcomed by the general populations. Therefore, they were relegated to live in the poorest parts of town. All Chinatowns got their start as ghettos, left to be forgotten, out of sight, out of mind. Now they are all tourist attractions because of their exotic foreigner vibes. As long as the Chinese being viewed as foreigners in America, there will always be Chinatowns. There used to be Germantowns and Irishtowns, but not anymore. Given that the Germans and Irish are White, after they have lost the accent, they can blend into the general population. Not possible with yellow faces even if these people speak perfect English. It's a fact that all so-called ethnic towns in America that still exist are populated by people of color.
just in Chinatown NY there are businesses named Oriental wireless, Manhattan Oriental Rug Cleaners, American Oriental Acupuncture, New Oriental Gallery, United Orient Bank, and Oriental Culture Enterprises.
This is such an amazing Kindergarten, equipping children with Chinese skills at the right age. ! Bright, happy and the children are learning Mandarin, Cantonese and English in such a fun manner.

unfortunately, per person spending is still flat. The chinese people are still pessimistic about the economy, the housing bubble wiped out too much wealth, so people just aren't willing to spend.
I was on cx616 with this same passenger earlier in the day from Bangkok to Hong Kong. He was a mess on that flight too. Got up and walked to toilet when plane was on short final into HK. Totally schloshed. Cathay should have never let him aboard cx806 an hour later. Hundreds of us missed flights and fouled travel plans due to the two hour diversion to Narita. 😑
