yes it's all in the hips but only really looking good when slowed from 50/60 to 24. for shots like that you can either use a gimbal (great), ramp (unpractical) or a tripod with zooming (so so)
Sorry I was working so I missed the live review, thank you so much guys! You're amazing! I was trying to avoid breaking the 180 rule with the officiant being behind the bride now when he was in the middle of them on my shot from the aisle.
That's a fascinating take on Apple Intelligence and its potential for video editing. I'm excited to see how this technology evolves and impacts the industry.
Thanks for taking us through the day and for sharing your approach and explaining your set up and thought process. Very helpful info, please do more bts videos like this, thank you 🙏🏼
It’s made to plugin to the bottom of hand held mics, the only problem is those mics usually already have a transmitter plugged in at weddings. Hate having to plug into the DJs soundboard because they’ll often find a way to muck up the audio some how.
What if I want to record the music in a live band using a tascam? I want to record in multitrack, how is that done? How do I plug into the soundboard they use? Do you have a video regarding this? Thanks, sorry for so many questions I’m just new
If it's a live band at a wedding just get a master out and you can run that into the dr40 or something that is more current (this video is pretty old). The sound board could have any of the three options listed in this video as an out and then you'll just need to make sure you have the appropriate cable to xlr
Great comparison of zoom vs. prime lenses for wedding filmmaking. I’ve favored primes for image quality, but this video highlights the versatility of zoom lenses. The quick adaptability is invaluable. Has anyone tried both on a gimbal? I’m interested in the stabilization differences.
What a stunning wedding. The attention to detail is remarkable, and the filmmakers captured the event perfectly. The 80s house party looked like a blast, and the drone footage is breathtaking. This video is pure inspiration for anyone planning a destination wedding.
Great breakdown of the Tamron 35-150mm. As a wedding filmmaker, versatility is key. This lens seems to hit the sweet spot between focal length and aperture. The price point is also a huge plus. Has anyone compared this lens to the "competitor lens" in terms of low-light performance and image stabilization? Would love to hear your thoughts.
Those aren't really competition, the first is f/4 with significantly less reach and the second is a 35mm. 35 is a great focal distance for plenty of things but the whole point of the tamron is the ability to remain on this same lens for so many different shots I'd say.
@@WeddingFilmSchool Tamron’s versatility across different focal lengths is what sets it apart. I appreciate your insight on how it compares to those lenses.
I use a zoom lens on mine and balance it at 50mm when Zooming in and out I always centre back to 50mm and it works fine as long as it’s balanced at 50mm
How much are you charging for these weddings? The look is too digital and clean, with little in the way of shallow DOF. I would be disappointed in these results if I were the couple.
All the picture in picture is raw straight out of camera, probably some bts shots mixed in. We have each been running successful wedding filmmaking businesses for over 15 years, no complaints yet! Also you can check the finished film in the description
@@WeddingFilmSchool none of my critiques have anything to do with raw footage though. I’m talking about the clinical looking digital feel that could be softened with a 1/8th promist filter, and the general lack of depth of field. Also the autofocus looks like it’s hunting in a few shots. Not bad work by any means though. Overall good stuff!
Anyone here know if it plays the FULL wedding video or like the highlight shorter video like the 5 or 10 min version .. or does it play the full hour or so version .
Oh man I should know this.....I want to say it's limited by file size but that it's possible you just may need to compress it a bit. I think if you follow the link they have the storage size in the description somewhere
Im curious… can this lense attach to the Canon ry mark ii …. I’m going to school for videography / photography but I want to do wedding video so this is good to keep in mind ..
Hey also I’m your video 2 years ago you said in the comment section something about only shooting with a 14mm lense? But then this video you were saying how great it is for this as versatile lense…. Can you expound or were you just mess in around in the comment section
@josiahaviles3319 it may have been a different person from the channel, because we have three different filmmakers who are part of the wedding filmmaking team here at WFS. We def do not only use a 14mm, but we often use an 18mm. Bobby also absolutely uses this Tamron at every wedding. We don’t because we don’t shoot Sony. Wish this lens was L mount! - Jay
Bobby here! Currently I they don't have this lens in a mount for canon. You could probably adapt it but that can introduce some issues. Curious about the comment on the 14mm thing. Was it me in the video (same guy as in this video?) if so do you have a timestamp?
The softbox belonged to the photographer! We had to deal with it while filming. Notice the photographer's lighting assistant with that light on the stick. Our video team did not do the lighting at the ceremony. We hated that light there as well, and it was difficult for us! Thanks for the review, we loved it!
@@WeddingFilmSchool I use a canon rf 35 1.8 and a tamron 24-70 lense with the ef adapter. Definitely have more issues with the tamron. Ive been switching between the face auto focus and the 1-spot af
I wish we could answer but Kraig has long sense left the channel. It also may be helpful to know that most modern projectors will work for this. I’d say a minimum of 5000 lumens for use indoors during the day. Probably too pricey to get something that would project outside in full sun and also probably not necessary.
I’d buy server space on Linux get a cpane control and add users for all your clients and charge them the subscription fees . You simply administer.. I’m a computer engineer since before Y2K
No wedding videographer is gonna do this. It’s effectively impossible for many. Since you got it down make a service and we (wedding videographers) will buy it.
I always wondered when the cloud storage companies would trap people who have lots of data uploaded. All they need to do is change policies one day when new CTO{?) arrives and discovers how much money there is to be made by screwing people over. I'm here as someone looking into offsite storage for a few terrabytes a year but I didn't want to go down an expensive cul -de-saq. I'm just going to buy reasonably safe SSD exterals and dig a hole outside with a constant temperature and keep it in a weatherproof container. Like a root cellar. If I get businessy with my photos i'll do the same thing but with a NAS in my root cellar and use cloud for when I need quick, temporary and easy. I think that it's very shady what they did to you. I remember when Dropbox was new. I think it was free, if I remember correctly. I thought, this is so cool and nice of them and then I realized they can just play nice for a while until they get lots of users. Like a freeware style software just changing their minds later when the time is right. Oh we have a 100 million users now, let's monetize the shit out of it.
Thank Wedding Film School for such an INFORMATIVE review of Sirui monopod. I love it when you demonstrate the disadvantage of this tool. That is while folding, you jam you hand skin into the lock and it hurts. As of today, June 15th, 2024, this model is discontinued. The newer models look better. I will try them later.
Wauw, really helpfull, but especially thank you for the last tip! This is exactly my problem, constantly comparing to others, never be satisfied, and its costs so much time. Needed to hear this :)
