You do not bring on another guest when a Beatle is on your show! That was unfair to the new guest because No One gave a shit!! STUPID DECISION. Paul reminded John at the end about just how Stupid that was. Could of got a song.
It confuses me that Paul talks about staying in Hamburg instead of completing his time at the Liverpool Institute. That was 1960 which means he was in his seventh year there and I'm sure he did actually get two A levels. So hadn't he finished by then?
Ed Sullivan did mention Johnny and newspaper writer Earl Wilson in his intro of the Beatles second appearance in the last half of the February 9th broadcast.
I was born in the USA in 1949, so was 15 when the Beatles got their start, and their music 🎶 was always the “new” record, never a “golden oldie”, I heard most of their new songs on the AM radio in the dash of my car, it was a good time!
Linda was always tense in public and didn't like being in the public eye. She seemed a rather passive person whom Paul dominated. Their daughter Mary did a documentary years ago and reading between the lines as she spoke about their marriage, I got the impression Paul often dismissed Linda's concerns, more focused on himself. He was used to being catered to as a big star. After he dies, I'm sure more details will emerge as to the truth of their marriage.
