He invited me to visit him so I saved enough for a one way bus ticket and was on my way. 😊😊. I was 20 and he was 36 so it didn't last long but I stayed because I grew to love the mountain. I did know the Miller's although I'm sure they won't remember me.

This looked to be a fairly cold and dry snow with a fair amount of wind so the wind would easily just keep blowing it clear on the sloped surfaces. These houses look to have properly done insulation in them, the insulation layer is actually on the ceiling of the upper level of the house, which prevents heat loss up into the attic spaces and keeping the heat lower in the house. The attics are also vented around the lowest portions and up at the top so air can circulate to prevent mould and moisture and keep the attic at the same temperature as the outside, since most folks don't really use them for anything, or storage at best.
Is the Placentia bridge pedestrianised? I'll be there without a car, hoping to explore the 18th century fortifications on foot. It's really special to me, since my 4x great grandfather was in command of the British garrison here in the 1770s.

what a massive piece of real estate in the heart of the city. sorry to lose that to housing. Especially the way the city allows development that ignores the concept of building communities in favour of allowing developers to maximize profits without regard for community needs--like mixed housing, local shopping and other amenities to lessen commuting etc etc.
Beautiful, peaceful and calm place to visit - Cavendish, when discovering Newfoundland and Labrador. A bit sad that there not a lot of buses to get to Cavendish side of Avalon. Better to go there with someone who drives
