I couldn't stand Charles Oakley, he picked his moments, looking at most of his altercation Videos. When He did stand his ground, he knew that he would have the upper hand, but against The Pistons when they had that Brawl especially going against Rick Mahorn when Mahorn took on The whole Team Singlehandedly & I'd give Mahorn the edge. Oakley came around & sucker punched Mahorn from The Blind side with a good Shot, but it looked as if Mahorn didn't ever know that Oakley was there, as if a Ghost had touched him & He didn't feel it. I. The results after Oakley had thrown that punched, was that he was pulled away by some teammates but actually not pulled away that hard, but what pulled him away was the look & expression on his face as if he was in a daze, I just hit him with everything that I had but he looked at me as if I had just kissed him.
Let's make this clear:: Bill Laimbeer is a bad person, not a true competitor but someone who would intentionally injure an opposing player to win a game. Despite his two championships he is not a hero, someone to be revered, but a scumbag, someone to be despised.
Oak was an enforcer for the Knicks, true. But let's face it, what would he have realistically been able to do against Shaq if they seriously tussled on the court ?
Dennis couldn't play today because he talk shit to players and referees he'll get a tech every game, today ball is soft as hell, neither could KG because Adam sliver wants a phys battle to be play with a soft pillow instead of throwing insults and battling for possession, also Dennis is physical player on defense and offense, no wonder viewership is down it open lane and no defense
there is a reason they never won. the bulls were never known as a physical team. athleticism > physicality. the funny thing is people talk like the defense from that era was some sort of cheat code. They don't realize that many players kept playing when rules changed. the bum who scored 5 didn't start scoring 15. they just talk like they did. hundreds of players kept playing and they weren't really all that better. it's the same bell curve when it comes to production. we can see it but since most of us never really got over the " i scored 50, i'm better than the rest" high school attitude.... if the whole group from era stopped playing, then maybe we have an argument.
