These are the neatest small machines to come out in a while. They solve one of the biggest issues with skid-steer loaders which is entry/exit from the machine. My dad has always said "Nothing turns a one man job into a two man job like a skid steer." The L28 doesn't seem much less nimble than a skid steer or minitrack. It just can't pivot in place.
Slightly bigger than my m444 and probably a little less tippy…. ROPS really should have came out faster. These machines were also nicknamed widow makers. In most skidsteers you can feel the rear getting light, not so much in these the back end loves to leave the ground in unexpected times.
That’s the one thing I found is that it needed more weight on the back of the machine. And I’d agree Rops needed to be sooner. I like the ones without bc that was the first ones.
Definitely agree they need more counterweight. Considering the entire fuel tank is basically ballast. If you were on the machine all day, it will progressively get more tippy. I do love vintage machines though that’s basically what I’ve been tinkering with on my channel recently. The counterweight definitely should’ve been positioned lower and honestly about double what they have.
All my bolts coming from the bottom up have hex heads and they’re all worse out. Can’t get mine out unless I use a torch. I even have some of the nuts loose up top and the bottom just spins.
Just bought same machine. 610: It works but original engine seams have lost some HP. The sticks and steering clutch needs some adjustment or repair since it does not make full turn. Otherwise it seams OK for its age. Hydraulic ok, and so on. Had to pay 3000 for it and maby it is much? But it is impossible to find machines like this here in Sweden cheaper if they run, even if they does not run. Anyway, i am glad i found it :)
That’s what the going rate around me is about 3000 grand for one. I don’t think you did you can always repower or rebuild the motor and there simple. There is a Facebook group called Melroe Bobcat owners that has a lot of information about em
@@Excavating320 ThX. It seams to be fairly OK. No sress damage on welds or so. But the steering sticks are real bad in the splines. Do you have a tip how to fix this without go al in and loose the kog wheels? To bad the support part for the stick inside is not made so it could be parted. It also seamed to be a bit weak when trying to turn on a dime. The engine bogged down. Hopfully i get it tomorrow so then i can check it out. Btw, it seems to have free wheel when shut off. Is there some kind of parking break or how to park it in uneven ground? Btw2 my is yellow, is that a year thing? The model M-610.
@@Excavating320 got a video on my channel of the long bed and ez lift on it. If you liked these ones you'll love that one!! Subscribe like and comment away brother
I bought the mp32 as well been having fun.I noticed the drive belt cover holds a lot of sawdust and bark. I cleaned it out several times, but then it ended up cutting my belt. I put on a new belt and left the cover off. Probably not the safest thing but nothing can collect in there that’s for sure.
Thank you for the awesome video of using DEVELON machines.😊 Can we use this video for our content? We look forward to hearing from you. Hope you have a nice day.
Funny thing is he thinks it's an awesome mower everything is smooth Yada Yada but how is the actual cut with the decks compared to a heavy commercial Scag turf tiger ll like I use, I'd choose scag cuz the way it cuts, all these low life landscapers only look at which mower is better cuz it runs
Dude, it has a 2-speed rear axle, controlled by the red knob on the shifter. You were driving in high range. You need all the gears when pulling in those old trucks. That's why they came with these 10-speed combos: a 5-speed transmission times a two-speed rear axle. Unlike high/low in a truck, these work together. There are even three speed axles! It's something like this: 1. Start in 1st and LOW (button down). When it's time to shift, instead of shifting it normally, you pull the knob to set the rear axle to high when you.re ready. 2. Now, press the clutch in like you're going to shift, but DON'T ACTUALLY SHIFT IT, you just break the torque and the rear axle will shift on it's own. 3. Now you're in 1st and HIGH. You reverse and go the other way, when going from 1ST and HIGH to 2nd and low. There's some good videos here on it, also look for split shifting. Note that there are some different patterns too. That sticker on the glovebox tells you the pattern to use. I think there were several spots you could have used those extra gears. They are fun to drive though!
I’m with you. I Not to good at all this tech stuff. I tell myself I’m going to try harder and get some videos and post more. I get to work and forget all about it. Get good and then you can show me .
you might think about making a bracket to clamp it to the bucket changing out implements with out a quick release is a pain that way you pack slip it off fill with dirt slip on repeat - Harry
I've found the e88 to be a nicer tractor than the e85. We've got both at my work and the e88 is a way nicer, smoother tractor to run compared to the e85.
