Thank you so much for this tutorial! Ive only had my Sansula a week and an unfortunate accident tore through the paper....i was in complete shock that the drumhead was PAPER abd not a fiberskyn synthetic drumhead. Paper .... so disappointed. This video is EXACTLY what i need! Thank you so very much
Your monocord sounds wonderful! I love the tuning. I am in the process of building one for myself. The dimensions of 90cmx30cmx7cm. I would really love to copy your tuning but I am unsure at the moment how many strings I am going to use. Care to share with me how to properly space out strings? Thanks so much for sharing your tuning. I will be referencing this for sure. All the best!
As some requested, the glue I use is one that can be used with wet materials, as u see, the skin is still wet when placed, that’s why. In this case, titebond ultimate III, but natural jelly tide glue would work fine as well.
Hello, thank you very much for sharing this information to repair a broken bracket. I would like to know the type of material that can be used to replace the paper. Apparently it could be a type of leather or thin animal skin. But I would like to know what is the right type of paper to replace. Greetings from Chile
Sorry. Don’t know wich type of paper they use. In fact, with very thin goat skin or sheep, you will like a lot, even maybe better. Just give a lot of tension, and it will work fine.
Hi! I'm not sure how do you call it in English, but you can use the same process used for rc airplane models. It's same paper used for kites then you use a chemical compound to strengthen it.
Beautiful instrument, 0:51 : Could you explain how you did it? I`m also making my own Rudra Veenas and try to get better and better. Regards and all best from Germany!

Thanks so much for posting this video! I am trying to repair exactly the same kind of sansula, so this is extremely helpful. I was curious as to why you sawed the ring into two pieces.
Greg Reynard hi! I did it because later if tensión needed u can give it by separating it with a small pice of wood or something. I also did some transforming it to a delux, with screws. It’s nos so difficult but u have to strength the wood with metals in the place where the screw pushes.
@@JoelOlive Thanks so much for your response. I went ahead and replaced the torn paper head with a goat skin head as you did in your video. I didn't saw the ring in half since I didn't have a band saw handy. That said, the head replacement went great, largely due to the information received from your video. Thanks again! We once again have a functional sansula!
