Nice reaction! On the piano is the co-writer of the song, Toby Gad. Just to let you know, the other co-writer of the song, BC Jean, was the first to sing the song as well as the person the song came from. She had just broken up with the man that she loved. Per Toby, they played it for Beyonce one day and she really wanted to sing and use this song, and the rest you say is history. Angelina and Toby have been working together for a while now and are creating new music for her to sing. They teased a song at a special event called Bad Valentine and it should be coming out within a few months. This collaboration is awesome! The Piano Diaries is Toby's project of other singers singing his most famous songs. Angelina of course is singing this song made famous by Beyonce. There is another music video of this song and is called the Artist Version, which is a bit more pop/commercial sounding, but man, it sounds really good too! Who is Toby Gad? Gad is a German music producer and songwriter based in Los Angeles. He is known for co-writing songs including John Legend's biggest hit, "All of Me", the fifth-highest certified single in RIAA history, and for co-writing and producing "Big Girls Don't Cry" by Fergie and "If I Were a Boy" by Beyoncé. Other notable works include "Skyscraper" for Demi Lovato, "Who You Are" for Jessie J, "Untouched" for The Veronicas, "A Year Without Rain" for Selena Gomez & the Scene, "Don't Hold Your Breath" for Nicole Scherzinger, "Love You More" for JLS, and "I Do" for Colbie Caillat.
I have the same problem with my chair. I have a stool I pull out for my guitar, though. Wanted to hear your remarks about Brad Delp's vocals in this. But, yeah, the guitar hook in this song is hot! But I love how it uses Brad's vocals to transistion into the heavy guitars, amazing.
you been missing out brother XG is the flyest baddest girl crew in the the game today. A group of 7 ultra talented aces. They run it old skool R&B hiphop rap. They have a lot of 🔥 tracks. You need to check out their huge global hit “Left Right” even Ciara jumped on the official remix. XG was just on the covers of Billboard, Vogue & Forbes a few months ago.
Juno Reactor has been my favorite electronic artists since the mid 90s. His album Shango is my favorite. I listened to the full album almost everyday for years. I have heard it easily 1000 times. I recommend the Spanish Guitar heavy Pistolero, or Badimo if the darker side is more your style. Naaras is on his Labyrinth album which I think is his most epic sounding material. This cover is glorious, it lets her voice absolutely shine. Thanks to Toby for asking AJ to sing this reinvented cover of his song for his Piano Diaries album. Toby is quoted saying, “Working with Angelina has been nothing short of inspiring. Her ability to channel profound emotion through her voice adds a whole new depth to the song.” They are also working on other songs for AJ. This will be huge for her. A cover only in the sense that what Beyoncé made was a cover of the song written by BC Jean and Toby Gad, originally performed by Jean in 2008. Beyoncé's cover was that same year. In this video the pianist is Toby Gad .. the Piano Diaries are a celebration of his hit songs. He invited Angelina to England with him to perform .. this is the fourth version I have heard. I am not sure if it is really a cover when a singer is standing next to the composer as they jam to create a different version of the song.
Well done Mike....this is now one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard....never really cared for it in other covers...got played to death...now this song is alive and performed the way it was meant to be. She and Toby took a song that I had heard so many times I had grown to hate it BUT listening to Angelina sing it with the soul and emotion she can put in her vocals just makes it all brand new again .great version and enjoyed your reaction
