really nice practise ! One thing I noticed was that your tempo changed throughout the arrangement ! That's pretty much the only thing I feel like you need to work on more o: Not saying I could do it better or anything, but coming from a fellow guitar player, maybe it helps to focus while practising <3 ! All the best to you, keep it up !
I remixed the second version of my cover for Souls of Fire! I promise this is the last time you'll see from this song😅 just wanted to try some stuff and figured I'd put out a better mix than I originally made!
Damn that looks tough to play my man! That was beautiful! Quick question if you don't mind: how did you learn this song? CandyRat has the tab on their site, and I am tempted to buy it. The thing is, I feel like using tabs too often takes away from my creativity. I'd love to hear your philosophy on using tabs vs learning by ear. Love the playing brother :)
Yo, dude! Thank you, I really appreciate it! Haha, and it's definitely a challenge in its own right, but I have this curse of playing well in front of people and not cameras😅 I also need to stop drinking coffee before takes lol, hence the giant mug right next to me. And ask away, my guy, I don't mind questions at all! I honestly learned the song by both watching Antoine play it and tablature. Honestly, I believe no matter how you learn it, you're always going to pick up something and it will always (more often than not) add to your creativity. There is a benefit of learning by ear when it comes to ear training, BUT, sometimes picking up on certain nuances can get lost in translation. Although, this can always improve with more experience and time. If you want to expedite that skill, ear training alongside tablature is an ultimate combo imo. I got examples like, learning this song, Encomium, and Whiskey Strategy by ear but I used the tabs eventually to help pick apart what I may have been missing... and I still have yet to redo Encomium lol. Also listening to artists play their own song in present time, versus when first published, you'll see how they've also evolved it over the years in how they perform it dynamically... this can also drive you to experiment. There's no real "one way" to learning perfectly. And the more sources you have, the better. And the more you mess with the song, the more songs you learn, the more you'll hear and recognize other things that will allow you to improvise further and make something with your own flare. I listen to so many songs on repeat, and I sing them in my head when I'm not actively listening to them, then I try finding the patterns with melody, bass, and rhythm. The tablatures and or live videos I watch I use to refine what I'm trying to play. Long story short, buying the tabs isn't gonna hurt your experience or creativity at all haha! I've been playing and writing music for guitar for almost 20 years, studied classical and flamenco through my teens while trying to be in metal bands, and I still use tabs to this day hahaha!... I hope none of that sounds pretentious, I just want to drive the point that it doesn't matter how you learn, as long as you're learning, everything else will fall into place if you give it patience and attention 😁 loving the process also helps haha! Thank you, dude! I'm sorry if this was long winded, though I hope it helped, always feel free to ask me anything else! I'm more than happy to help 🙂
You're a very cool dude. This game makes me want to start singing) I also played well once, but then no one knew what fingerstyle was, and then there was a crisis and I had to sell my acoustic and electric guitar(
Oh, dude, you're the cool one here!😎 But thank you! I gotta stop drinking coffee before I record, I realize it makes me fumble a lot haha! And I'm so sorry to hear that, man :( I hate to hear whatever you experienced made you sell your guitars!
Haha, not at all dawg haha, and I have plans to get more! I do wish I got it just slightly bigger, but that's okay😅 its hard to see, but it means "Eternal" in Japanese :)
Not really tbh, unless it's for government representation or anything federal, most places are starting to care less. Even then, Kat Von Dee has a makeup meant for covering up tattoos if need be haha
Sheeeeeesh, third comment in a row 😅 I definitely appreciate your feedback and support hahaha! This one's been recorded again, and I've got a duet version coming out too. I definitely look forward to sharing all the rest next year!
Oh yea man! I started learning a lot of Dufour a long time ago, my problem is that I have a terrible habit of always starting another song I love without the previous. Some other songs I do actually set aside while learning because it can be a pain haha😅 and thank you! I'm still finishing a lot of these in the middle of my EP!
