I love subnatica I never get bored even when collecting resources I fell like i could play for hours and never get bored the music fits perfect the with biomes and the visuals look beautiful to this day one of my favorite games and great video
Got the game last year, easily my best spending of $30. The game just makes you feel happy, its beautiful, the music is soothing, and the atmosphere (though creepy at times) just screams "fun adventure". This will probably remain my favorite game.
I was first introduced by a friend when I was roughly 14 years old I think. Back then they hadn't implemented an ending (the rocket blueprints) yet. As oppose to that friend, i was really hesitant and actually kinda scared. But the absolute beauty of the world in combination with an amazing story kept me coming back. It took me 8 playthroughs and 270 hrs to get (mostly over that). Now the only fear to overcome are the flipping bleeders. They swim up to you with their gross little tentacles without even noticing. I've got nothing else to say other than I love this game. I like that it's cheap, but I'd pay triple A money for it that I wouldn't for actual triple A titles with much more content.
God, I love this game. I've put hundreds of hours in, and it is tradition for me to go back every once in a while to see how fast I can beat the game in a casual sense. First I made about 12 hours, then I shaved it off to 9 hours, then most recently I was able to finish the game in just about 6 hours. Even with all that, I still go back, and enjoy the game so much.
The game is beautiful but the best aspect of the game is it's horror/terror side. And unfortunately that is missing from Below Zero. I would want to play a Subnautica with more dangers, harder to get resources and underwater weapons with bases having automated self defense aspects: turrets, lasers, electroshock and so on and at night the base would be attacked by monsters. You see where I am going with this?!
subnauticas building engine is not something i would consider "creative", its too restricted, and it doesnt give you enough options, i would consider a build option like that of satisfactory or the return of the ancients precursor build type, something more modular, with more options.
I understand the desire to create a game where you can express zero violence. But it's kinda undermined when the world you find yourself in is extremely violent towards you. XD I mean, I love Subnautica, it's just something that does not make much sense to me.
My first memory was opening up that bottom hatch to climb out for the first time. Seeing that BEAUTIFUL rabbit ray swim by my feet had me itching to see the rest of the world. I followed that ray for a bit, taking pictures because it was so gorgeous. The reef was gorgeous. The soundtrack was gorgeous. Everything was gorgeous. Until Mr. Cuddles introduced himself. He was probably being nice, screaming out his salutations from across the way, and I think there was an invite to dinner at his place, but, to be honest, I can't tell you what he was trying to say because my own screams drowned out his own. I guess my accent was off, because the next thing I know, he's trying to kill me. Looking it up all these years later, I've discovered that my screams translated into something horrendously offensive and now all the Reapers know me as "that guy" and want to eat my face. Ah, memories.
i never really played subnautica i would watch my brother play it i play it now and its exetremely fun but the memory i love the most is when my brother was playing once he made a new world put it in creative told me to play and he watched me spawn in every levithan warpers in the front of the aurora good times
As they say with Subnautica, the first time around you're amazed and horrified, but the second, third fourth, and so on, you just tell everything to screw off. But that's the thing, you play so many more times than just twice.
One of the terrifying things happened to me while playing was just roaming the world searching for kyanite (didn’t know abt the lava zone at that time) and then reached the end and when I saw the bottomless dark I wondered "what is this biome?" And I was terrified a bit but said "man what could go wrong" and then I swam forward not to the bottom and when I heard the PDA saying "entering ecological dead zone" I freaked out and started swimming to the main map and then promised myself that I’d never go back there whatever the cost
I personally played for a bit A reaper "hugged my seamoth quit for five years found that old save in the depths of my computer then proceeded to do unspoken things to that one reaper
They fired him for problematic tweets. If you are a game developer you don't want one of your developers to be tweeting problematic things that would make the whole studio look bad.
@@Kerath And he made many hateful comments. Than is unacceptable, especially for a smaller studio like that. Morals aside, they can't handle bad publicity from all the things he said.
my first computergame ever in over 20 years of gaming that I have played more then once and still can´t wait to start over again :) still scared of mr reaper 😂
The whole origin story makes me like the game even more. It still gives me anxiety to dive into some dark area and hear a reaper and start spinning around trying to locate its position. Hell of a game. Still to this day, I play for at least 2-3 hours per week, if not more.
I never played the first Subnautica, but a while ago I got Below Zero, forgot about it, then rediscovered it in my game cabinet, and let me tell you, I pooped my pants.
They absolutely nailed the reaper leviathan. I, despite playing this game for so many years now, am still so afraid of them. I never go near their area and their screams in the distance send shivers down my spine. 10/10, one of the most iconic creatures in the whole game.
I like almost all the music in the game, but on the other hand that of the end credits is really bad and does not match the rest and the atmosphere of the adventure in my opinion. The question of the best soundtrack remains subjective, but it's true that it's nice overall. I really like that of BZ too by the way, one of the only aspects of the game that I find really successful
This game was terrifying. From the deep sea, to the monsters, to the outstanding soundtrack I almost never played without headphones and I enjoyed every moment of it. And alot of moments I had I have probably over 100+ hours on it and still haven't beat it yet 😅 there was one time my game crashed after I was playing for 4 hours straight I was heart broken. Reply with your stories whoever reads this!
I remember when I got my cyclops stuck in the lost river because it ran out of power and I escaped using my prawn and I also remember when I scanned a reaper
this game gave alot of memory, the first time you enter the giant sunken ship and got claustropobhia , your oxygen is limited, when the first time you enter the murky brown water and whichis mr cuddle teritory dat was a big no no, when the first time you collect all the vehicle part and build it, man cyclops, seamoth, prawn suit all give a big sense of new journey to explore, the time you can sunk deeper using seamoth and enter the leviathan graveyard with multiple entrance is just tooo cool, and i hate that emp squid so much. before you know you are already ready journey into the deepest part the lava zone that was so scary everything want you dead
i love this i did play alot of it a while back days on end i loved it the lore the mysteries the story line my best memories was when i made my first of 8 bases
