I still remember, first time listening to this version around 1982, I was still in high school, and it was aired on WFMT Chicago. In fact, it was my first introduction to this play. Left a lasting impression on me and my life. I have listened to different versions of Beckett's magnum opus, Still, I believe, this is the best audio version. Thank you for uploading!!
Absolutely incredible. BUT . . . the last 15 minutes of this are unbearable . . . absolute tragedy of the greatest order. Robeson, Uta Hagen, and Edith King, and Jose Ferrer are chillingly brilliant. If only this could have been filmed . . . but even in audio only, it's a lesson in great acting.
Let it be noted that this is the cast of the first Broadway production (though not quite the cast of the first American production--it opened in Florida, I think, with Tom Ewell as Vladimir).
Hi. The video says that this drama is the winters tale by William Shakespeare, but when I went to look at the cast list within the description of the video, the description is the taming of the shrew from 1961.
