I will be showing you the beautiful marshes swamps and bayous of Southeast Louisiana along with its bounty! Louisiana has a strong culture with its family and food. So I will be sharing that with you. I had an auto repair shop for 30 years, so I will be showing some repair tips too!
Pulling up a dozen crabs per net is insane! Now I see why you like the nets over the traps. So many crabs you get to hand select them. Great job! Always fun to watch a net coming up, never gets old.
FYI I have been fishing and crabbing there for 25 years and just this spring I noticed a sign on dock that said NO FISHING FROM FLOOD CONTROL STRUCTURE. Just so you won't get a ticket you can crab off the left and right walkways but not off the MAIN DAM with the 3 culverts. LWF agent will write you up...JUST saying.
Dang brother did you save any for the rest of us...lol. That's what I call a great day crabbin' and I'm glad to see them really starting to come in. Once this rain stops I plan on getting out there and trying my luck using a different technique then what is the norm around Louisiana along with traditional ways. Great video and I am looking forward to seeing you make a seafood gumbo with some of those crabs among whatever else you cook. God bless and see you on the next one.
LOL there were plenty to go around! It was a crazy amount. You’re making me hungry for gumbo now. If you want gumbo crabs they are plentiful there that’s for sure! I picked through and got some nice size crabs for boiling. Good luck when you go buddy! I look forward to seeing how you do! God Bless.. 🦀🦀🦀🦀
You ever yo-yo fish out there we used to fish des allmands with them on hot summer go run yo-yo and go back after and pick up all the fish and hope to remember where we put them.
@@Marsh-Mechanic back when I was younger and drank alcohol we would lose many of them . 😂 Also if you want to go to grand isle with me let me know. Skipping work for fishing is a blast 💥
@@kaptkirksphotography when I was younger, I don’t remember some of my fishing trips would bring two cases of beer and two boiled eggs and that was for the entire day!! Sounds good about Grand Isle. We will keep in touch!
Great job with the crabs! 18 is really good amount, combined with those catfish gonna make for a great meal. The two holes in the trap, is that for smaller ones to escape if trap sits too long? Bigger crabs cant fit through that, correct? I never messed with traps before, just the nets.
Yes for the smaller ones to get through. I actually like crabbing with my nets better because it’s more fun than the traps, more action lol . Boiled crabs and fried fish hard to beat! Thanks buddy!! 🦀🦀🐟🐟
Nice productive day out there. Shrimp works amazing for those Bream, and some nice size too. How do you get your wide angle shots? I wanna try that, Im always scared it will fall off in the water.
They do chow down on the shrimp 🦐 I find a good stump or branch to set my phone or go pro on and pray it don’t fall in the water. I did lose a tripod I had my phone attached to but grabbed the phone in time 😂😂 thanks for watching buddy! Look forward to your next one!
Gald to see the crabs moving in after all this rain has stopped for a while. The wife and I are going to be heading out on Wednesday to try out our new camp area for some crabs and see if they are in the area yet. Great video, God bless and see you on the next one.
It wasn’t as many as last year but definitely for some reason bigger. Good to go mid week you won’t have a crowd lol. Good luck to you and your wife. Be safe out there and get em!!! 🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀 Thanks buddy!!
I know Houma area well! This was St. Bernard Parish bayou Bienvenue area. I would miss the seafood a lot if I moved, but I hear Oklahoma has great barbecue.?? 🍖. Thanks for watching!
Looked like a great day of catch'n to me. Some beautiful blue Gill. Nicely done with the wildlife and fisheries. I've been checked a couple times and they have always been professional and respectful. Great video buddy! 🍻
They were very cool guys and gal. Wanted to make sure they knew about the firearm and they appreciated that. Those blue gill are so much fun! Thanks buddy! 👍
Beautiful spot! And the Wildlife and Fisheries Officer was cool. I have to admit I thought you may have been fibbing about the fire extinguisher 😂 Good job staying compliant!
Hey bud, why don’t you have your ice chest in front , so you don’t have to go back and forth for every fish? I keep mine close, flip the lid with my foot. Drop the fish in, never leave the front deck! Great video, thanks!!! Thibodaux, La.
Kelly, are you by chance fishing the westwego canal? I grew up in Harahan and use to fish the canal all the time for bass and sacalait…..enjoyed the video…thanks for bringing us along. Have a great weekend. 👍🇺🇸🙏
Nice video. Just wanted to let you know that on wildlife and fisheries website it says that a fisherman may possess 25 undersized catfish at a time of the three species combined (flathead, channel, and blue catfish) with a total possession limit of 100
That old burner still puts out a good flame, gets the job done. I was looking at that hose earlier in the video and couldn't stop thinking about what could happen to that delicious pot of crawfish if someone caught it and when she clipped it my anxiety went through the roof lol. Loved watching the whole process and now I have to get crawfish this weekend. Might be no fishing with all the rain, might as well eat.
Funny, you say that man, my daughter tripped on it a couple of times I didn’t care if she hurt herself. I just didn’t want the Crawfish to get ruined.!! 😂😂 My grandfather made that burner 70 years ago and I’m not kidding lol. Yeah this weekend’s gonna be a mess. Good time for you to boil up some crawfish! 🦞🦞🦞🦞🦞🦞🦞🦞🦞 thanks for watching buddy. I look forward to your next one!!
This video was Des Allemands close to humble Canal or Humble bayou.. yes it’s really pretty back there! thanks buddy. Sounds good. Let’s keep in touch about it!!
Fishing beats any day working. Enjoyed the video Kelly. We didn’t do to good in Delacroix but I will be heading back to louisiana in October for the world series the last two weeks. Going to try fishing Hopedale on my next trip. Caught a few nice speckle trout in lake pontchartrain by the tresels. 660 mile trip back home in Clearwater Florida. Took me a tad over 10 hours pulling my boat back. Looking forward to your next video. Have a great upcoming weekend. 👍🙏🇺🇸
Bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work! October I think is one of the best months, lower wind nice temperature just really nice! Lake Pontchartrain is a tough place to fish, hard to learn but can pay off with big specks! Cool you got some!! Thanks for watching buddy! Have a good weekend! 👍🙏
