I've been doing the jacket trick at security for years at this point. it works great. another minor hack I do is when I lace my shoes, I run the laces from outside to inside at the top holes. that way I can have the shoes untied and the laces tucked inside as I approach security. also, as a guy, I wear black golf pants, instead of leggings. mine have rubber grip strips inside the waistband, to keep the belt optional; and a lot of flex and stretch, while still looking businesslike.
someone had recommended wearing those papery shoe covers while going through security to protect your feet/socks from germs & fungus. Well that didn't work on my return trip as the TSA agent had an issue with me wearing an "unexpected item". I don't think it was a rule as she just looked closer at my feet but better to wear an extra pair of socks.
There’s 2 types of checked luggage. One is normal. The other is pressurized to cabin standard. It’s where dogs and instruments can go. I put my violin in one once after they explained it. Of course my violin is worth much less.
We have used Apple AirTags for the first time last year coming home from Europe, and thank goodness we did. Our flight from Toronto to Calgary to Vancouver was cancelled and we had to re-book. We had to also track and reclaim our luggage. Thankfully the AirTags helped tremendously in that, and we were able to gather our stuff and re-book safely and securely.
If you're not a panty liner person I can highly recommend Merino wool underwear. They keep you stay fresh and cool believe it or not. The brand that I like the best is called Branwyn. They are expensive because they are Merino wool but I'm very sensitive to wool and they do not itch me at all. They also make a sports bra kind of bra you have to wash it a couple of times to get it softer. But that's also a very good bra. It doesn't have underwires. And it seems to support me just fine. I just thought I'd share. But panty liners are a good idea as well. I just hate wearing them.
I wear flip flops usually on flights as they are easier to take off if I need to but never do as I have TSA pre check. It also more comfortable for me during long flights. I also use manscape’s deodorant for underwear area and never have sweat problems when I fly. I used to have problems before especially on long flights but the deodorant is a life saver.
All this worry about holding up the line, like people have no patience. I haven't flown in 12 years, but will fly next month international. If I get something wrong, it's gonna be tough noogies for those behind me. Get there early if you have a problem with this.
I mostly travel to SE Asia which is very hot so I wear flip-flops. I don’t go anywhere that requires covered shoes. I bring a second pair for house shoes. I ALWAYS take a hoodie because it can get very cold on the plane and I can put my noise canceling headphones on and then the hood so people know I’m in do not disturb mode.
I do follow the order you mentioned, putting your valuables (and electronics) at the end. I flew through Houston (IAH) a month ago and they asked me to put my passport as well even though I only had my passport and the boarding passes in my hand. I was hoping to keep the passport with me as you suggest.
Another thing I found out: if you wear jeans be mindful that the cuffs aren’t folded up. Last couple times I flew had one pant leg slightly folded without noticing and it flagged on the scanner. No big deal; tsa lady unfolded it and patted on my ankle and I was good to go. Question: My family is going to Universal Orlando in November. I’ve recently changed my birth control to a patch. Departure day is the same day I change the patch so I can simply put the new one on after going through security at my home airport but I’ve been fretting about it showing up on the scanner at the Orlando airport on our return trip home. If the scanners are more advanced now to not freak out over sequins maybe the patch won’t flag on the scanner?
One info I thought is worth sharing: Emirates airlines has a facility called Dubai Connect, under which they require eligible psssengers to submit certain documents and details and the airlines applies for transit visa on passengers' behalf. I have availed this during my layover in Dubai earlier this year. Passengers who are eligible will see Manage Dubai Connect option when they Manage their itinerary. Accommodation and airport transfer are covered under Dubai Connect.

Hello, what about my walking staff? What should I bring with me because I have knee problems? Can I take it on the plane? Hello, what about my walking staff? What should I bring with me because I have knee problems? Can I take it on the plane with me? Will they cause any problems? Will I need a doctor's note?. 👍🇺🇾🤝🇨🇦🤗🇵🇾🥩🧉🦮🐎⚖️🗽🦯
I am one of those people who absolutely cannot stand wearing socks! I’d rather walk, barefoot, and then just wipe my feet off once I’m through. Unless I’m traveling through an extremely cold region, it’s flip-flops for me!
