Welcome to Prof. Wambugus Research Methods class. This is a class where we discuss everything Research from understanding the discipline, the philosophy, the elements and the methods of conducting.
Prof. Wambugu is an Associate Professor at the university of Nairobi, Kenya where she teaches Research Methods and Monitoring and Evaluation to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. She also trains on SPSS and M&E. Shes also an author. She has authored a book in Research Methods.
She holds a PhD in Education (Research and Evaluation). In her many years of teaching, Prof. Wambugu has noted that Research Methods is one of the units that students find abstract because they are not able to link theory and practice.
In this class, she will take you through Research Methods in a simplified yet consistent and systematic manner. The course will be presented in lectures for ease of understanding. Welcome to todays lesson
Good explanation! I have a question here though; Is there any harm if a PhD thesis has less than 4 objectives ( 3-4 objectives)? A number of theses I have read tend to have more than 4 objectives and at times the objectives mean nothing, but appearing repeatedly (tautologising). Your response will be highly appreciated Prof.
The number of objectives are speaking on the variables of the study. In most cases, phd thesis has more because of the amount of research you are expected to undertake. However, the number is not cast on stone, different departments/ faculties dictate the number of the variables to study for their students
What do you mean locked? The lessons are all accessible. They are uploaded on RU-vid, courses that are paid for are ones you cannot access unless you pay. Check my RU-vid channel, youtube.com/@research-methods-class
