The fight could've gone 2 different ways. Wiz said that the ending varies on who got the first hit. Lucy managed to block Carnage's first attack and then she counter striked him before he could react
@ScaleGod He had control over her for 10 seconds during that fight but she snapped out of it. Carnage can only control people by controlling them by using their blood. He managed to scratch her 4 times but because Lucy has a healing factor (although minor), they are easily fixable meaning Carnage could only control her while her blood was exposed. Another possibility of why he couldn't gain permanent control is because it works better on humans and Lucy is not an actual human. She's a mutated Humanoid creature. Crona vs Venom showed another way to counter mind control: if you have something similar to another Symbiote in your blood or body. Crona had Ragnarok. Now in Lucy's case, we could probably say that since Lucy has 3 different personalities (Nyu, Lucy (who was used most of the fight), and the DNA Voice), Lucy's DNA Voice probably counts as a counter for mind control
