Thanks - it can likely use some adjustment. I'm wondering about the pressure however since, I believe when you push to close, it releases pressure on the piston. Perhaps there is a way to make it less abrupt.
i cannot get over how fast the trunks close on these...when they are working. i guess it was up to the chauffer to handle the baggage, so he better know to jump
I remember my grandfather's 1970 280SL had the same blue color toolkit in the trunk, and yes back then you could perform basic maintenance because the owners manual actually had proper instructions on how to DIY. Unfortunately, most new vehicles, like, Audi,BMW, Mercedes, Porsche now in 2024, their owners manual will tell you to go to an authorized dealership to perform an oil change, air cleaner change, simple interior light bulb change, and even more ridiculous to top off the windshield washer fluid. Apparently the manufacturers no longer want us to touch anything on our own vehicles. Very soon all vehicles will have sealed engine and battery compartments, to deprive us to do our own maintenance, I find this obsurd. I enjoy working on my own cars and performing all basic maintenance tasks! We need to let the manufacturers to stop this nonsense. Excellent video very informative and sure brings back food memories! 👍

Nice ride! Love the sounds and sites of the MGTD. My first car was a TD back in 1969. I presently own and drive a MGTF but another TD is in the works. I am 70 years old now but still love these old MGs!
Hi Eric. The battery is just a 'genuine' Mercedes battery as purchased through the Mercedes parts department (I believe in this video; it was the 8 year-old battery the car was restored with, and we subsequently purchased an AGM battery from Mercedes which would look different).
