We were scalloping a couple weeks ago in it in +50kts winds. lol

It's a qsm11 Cummings, 660hp. The hull is a 40 Osmond, H&H. Its a fully loaded lobster, commercial fishing/dragger, and she does 29kts.

Don't give up they are out there. Do a google search for "halibut fishing tips and tricks". Also.... I believe in the old schooner and dory days they used 1. shorter gangions, 2. long straight shank ( but short curb) hooks, and, 3. a piece of wood or cork near each hook (to help keep the bait off the bottom). I hope it helps. Best o luck Cap'n. ( P.S. ... to get a stubborn lobster to release its grip on a trap (or a finger), a fast tapping action on the claw with a measure works great).

why not use tubs and plastic pipe across stern? Must be aggravating laying each tub out on deck every time
