I was actually thinking about installing a mini split for my master bedroom, now I don't think I'll need it and you are right about the 1 degree difference.
Can you use this unit with a deflector? I want to boost the air flow AND shift the direction of where the air goes (in my case, the vent is partially covered by a couch). Thanks!
I just tested mine with a magnet and the magnet does NOT stick anywhere to the face of the register. If you can use a double sided adhesive with your deflector then you should be able to use it with these booster fans just fine!
@CKPassive Thank you for checking!! I'll definitely modify slightly to make work for my situation in the immediate. I'm wondering if perhaps affixing rare earth magnets with glue to the underside of the vent (as those are highly magnetic) would effectively attract anything magnetic applied over top of the vent adequately... Either way, I'll think of something!! Excited to try this vent out. The reviews are very encouraging 🙌
You're welcome! Your idea had me curious so I looked closer - I'm not sure if there's room on the underside for magnets, at least around the edges. To give you a better idea, I just added a post under the Community tab on my RU-vid channel with some pictures of the underside for you to look at. I'm sure you can come up with a good work around - I'd love to hear your solve once you have it!
As long as it fits the opening of your duct and has a place to be plugged in to a two prong outlet. The vent fan also has a hole on either side for mounting it.
Good luck, I hope it helps you! It makes a big difference for us. Make sure you program it for the fan to turn on when your AC is running. Ours is set at 60 (for the snowflake icon) and 76 (for the fire icon). Meaning when it detects cool air that's colder than 60 degrees, it will turn on. I did this because the built in thermostat was reading about 55 when our AC was running. Happy to help if you have any questions!
I gotta tell you, no self respecting gardener would ever stick plastic flowers in their flower beds. Why not just buy the real petunias or whatever annual you prefer to fill the space for a season or two? Fake flowers just add to the hoards of plastics that are destroying the planet, and do not benefit anything or anyone. Tacky, tacky, tacky.😢
I appreciate your opinion and I'm sorry you feel that way. I don't claim to be a gardener. Our home is on an old quarry and our beds are almost all rock and dense material - we haven't been successful keeping annual flowers alive. We can agree to disagree about the benefits, to each their own. 😊
