All of these programs are frauds. There are more of these programs than ever the government is spending more on housing than ever and for some reason the people who are actually looking for affordable housing keep getting priced out.
This was a wonderful conference that really shined a light on a lot of inequities within our systems. Regina really dropped some knowledge and is a historical treasure!!!
HI there -- where are you located? Community Solutions and Built for Zero partners with 98+ communities that are working to end homelessness. The best way to access support is through local organizations that implement the Built for Zero methodologies.
You had no drug addicted or mentally ill homeless? These are the main causes of homelessness. How did this community address these problems? We have 80% of our homeless being offered shelter and declining it. Shelters have rules, such as no drug or alcohol policies, or no pets, so homeless choose to remain outdoors.
Stay a night in a shelter…not a solution to getting out of trauma. You have screaming people all night, are sleeping on a prison mat, can’t bring stuff, people are doing or drugged out, and there are snoring and gasping people needing medical care…ridiculous. When you sleep in one a week, write back here. Tell me how that’s the solution.
It's impossible to end homelessness in the United States of America if you have open borders because everyone will from other countries be trying to get a home. We can't house everyone in the world. Ending veteran homelessness in America is possible and totally durable.
If you want to end homelessness then dont make it legal for courts to fine people for anything, dont allow people to be thrown in jail for stuipid stuff like loitering in front of a store ( personal issue, I cant get food if I have to pay the court 200+$ for loitering in front of Safeway after buying groceries) and dont let it be a sport for cops to ticket people. Every time feels like can start getting myself togeather theres sone Cop ( that transfered to my town, 50 miles from where I was born) saying "how it works around here" after I spent most of my life " loitering" around my comfort zones, and giving a ticket that cost my drivers license. Makes a body feel worthless, then its difficult to take care of myself cant even gather up the resources to shower properly sometimes. If it was a personal issue you can work it out with someone, but if they are just H.O.P.P.ing (High On the Pleasure of Power, then they shouldnt get a paycheck for doing civil services.
This is amazing. This really makes me want to get our butts in gear. My city of Moncton only has an estimated 70,000 people. It should not be hard to end chronic homelessness. Great work Rockford!!!!!
Stop shopping at slumlord Cosco would be a good start. They fire people who deal with bipolar. Trust me they're going to try and lie and tell you they don't have any knowledge of my condition when they learned I was acquainted with management at the unemployment hearing that I won years before my absence. Was I reunited? No! They disregarded that information and after 13 years of employment that's how they will treat you. You can ask Union representative Dan Hernandez building 455 about this disgrace. This story gos on and on just stop shopping at Costco!
Time to investigate EPS Composites. The cost of materials is a little over $3 per square foot of walls and roof (including interior finishes). If you really do care, this is the answer to your prayers
Finally, a righteous approach, is being implemented in addressing the problem of chronic homelessness that has been plaguing U.S. for far to long. Thank You Becky. & 100k Homes.

This is a great video and a great step in the right direction. I was homeless for 29 months here in LA, while battling cancer and HIV. I now do peer support for homeless people battling so much including HIV or AIDS. I know first hand that simply supplying homes will not end homelessness. Organizations also need to know how to care and truly provide supportive services that work, not hinder or make people feel bad. Great job and awesome video. We still have lots more to do.
