Hey! I'm Caleb P. and welcome to my music channel! I remix videogame music usually affiliated with Nintendo, but I make some original stuff here and there. If you would like to use any of my tracks in your own content, all I ask for is that you provide a link to the original video or my channel.
Woohoo! What a fun remix, and a great song selection, too. Honestly, it's hard to find a Mario Kart track that doesn't bop, and I feel like this one has underrated potential - you've really maximized that potential here! The instrumentation is both eclectic and cohesive, and as you and others have remarked on, it has a fun kind of hoedown feel with the way you've used fiddles, banjo, and twangy synths. It's a dense arrangement, yet everything can be heard clearly in the mix, which is tough to pull off. I really like that organ break at 1:45, and it adds a nice "country fair" kind of vibe to the sound. Honestly, this feels like it could fit equally well into either a Mario Kart or Mario Party title! And while you mentioned that you left the arrangement largely intact, it feels like you really brought out and embellished the harmony parts, especially at 1:00 and 2:42 - nice work with that! I really like the drum beat you went with here, and it fits the sound style perfectly! The kick and snare have great punch, too, with nice body and top end for both. It's clear that a lot of work went into drum fills and transitions, too, with a nice blend of cymbal swells and crashes, and those clap fills - I love those! 👏 And as Steel pointed out, the SFX really add a lot to an already-high-energy piece; in fact, they feel integral to the song. The semi-transparent geometric overlay is a neat visual touch, and it seems to resemble a moving rocky/earthen plane, which fits the background image quite well! It's always nice to see new ZGEV effects being utilized! Once again, great work, Caleb - definitely looking forward to more Mario Kart remixes, alongside your other projects! 🌟
This sounds so epic! From what I've heard you've definitely been improving on the orchestral side and can't wait to hear more remixes from you in the future!
Ooh, this is nice!! It has such a warm and pleasant atmosphere, and I can't help but smile and feel at ease while listening. 😌 You've definitely nailed the chill vibes you were going for here! The instrumentation here is superb, and it has great synergy, as the different instruments complement each other well, creating a soundscape with gentle ringing, shimmering, and undulating textures. I really like the percussive elements here, too, with those mellow claps, the filtered kick, and the subtle hi hats - not to mention those lovely cymbal swells! It all comes together nicely and creates a sound that makes for some seriously easy listening! Also, in terms of arrangement, you really nailed it here! Between the melody deviations, the alternate chord progressions, and improvised segments, there's a lot of variety here. It's neat how in the interlude sections, you drop out the melody elements and let the supporting parts carry the tune, while still keeping the chord structure intact - it feels like a natural extension of the song! And dropping the melody into a lower octave, like at 2:23, is a creative way to mix up the song structure, as well. Ooh, and that final deviation at 3:05 where the melody goes up makes for a beautiful climax - I love that! It's cool to see new visual effects being used here, and the flowing, rhythmic motion of the peak reactors fits the musical style well. Once again, great work here, Caleb - I'll be looking forward to hearing this in the upcoming Megamix, too! 🌟
