you need think about the BUGS, SNAKES, GATORS, and the fact it's HOT AS HELL ALL SUMMER !!!!!!!!!!! If you plan on moving come see the place in August, OH and learn Spanish before you come so you can talk to the 1,000's that live here that only speak it ! When you have to carry a rag around to open car doors or touch anything in the sun and your shoes are sticky because they are melting to the pavement as you walk you will remember the summers of Mich. You talk up the beaches and water sports, that's the only place the above mentioned animals trying to kill you don't live, But don't forget the ocean has it's own group of animals trying to eat you ! One last word for you------- Hurricane
Hi, I will be moving to Troy Michigan due to work. I am interested in renting 1/2 bedroom apartments preferably in an Indian community. Would like your recommendation.
@Great Move Michigan by Maria Piccione Great tips! Thank you. I have a question if you have the time. What do you think of asking buyers to wear shoe covers? We have never worn shoes in our home and would like it to stay that way as long as we are still in it.
I don’t understand the process and repercussions that would go into transitioning a name change but I wish they could just bunch both cities together into “Rochester” or go with the alternate “Avon Hills”. People and even location technology just get confused with the name and zip codes trying to differentiate them. My mail and local searches tend to get errors due to “Rochester Hills” being defaulted to “Rochester” which creates conflict in doing business and handling municipality duties.
We're looking to move to this area soon, from Colorado where our home has increased in value by an absurd amount (bought our 4/2.5 home for 430k 4 years ago, it now estimates at $700+) and we're considering taking advantage of that to move closer to my wife's family who are all in Clawson. The one thing we don't have here is a real "downtown" and she has always loved the Village. Browsing for places that would be ideal for our girls, 12 and 15 now, but also for us to retire in 20 years. I very much like the idea of being able to hop on a couple of e-scooters and zipping just a mile to downtown. One problem we're having though, the newer (>80s) neighborhoods we've seen don't seem to have fences, and we'd very much like continue our volunteerism as dog fosters, which we've been doing for a couple years since we can both work professionally from home.
That is awesome! We are seeing a lot of folks moving back to Michigan for the same reasons. You're right about the fences, being a native Michigander, I never realized it until some others moving here mentioned it as well! As for the e-scooter, they are so much fun! Looking to get one this summer too :) Certainly let us know if we can be of any help!
Do you happen to know who the builder was of this sub division? They're beautiful homes and I'd like to reach out to the builders for more information.
Hi there! It's a beautiful community, isn't it! Unfortunately at this point it is completely built out. If you are interested in new construction, I do have a package with a list of other new construction homes and communities in the area, but I am not able to attach it here. If you'd like a copy of it, just send me an email at 'maria@greatmovemichigan.com' and I will send it over to you.
The library is called Rochester Hills Public Library but it’s located in Rochester. Also Rochester Hills residents and businesses can use Rochester in their addresses instead of Rochester Hills.
We're curious about your thoughts about Rochester Municipal Park. Let us know by dropping us a comment! And, also let us know if you'd like to see more videos about parks in Rochester, MI!
