TLC Transitional Life Care provides informal, additional support to those approaching death and through the process of dying, and to their families and caregivers. We also offer care to those who’ve lost someone and to all who wish to acknowledge and prepare for their end of life transition, all from a Buddhist perspective. We offer spiritual affirmation and encouragement grounded in the traditional customs and rituals based in Vajrayana Buddhism. We acknowledge that the end of life is a profound opportunity for spiritual understanding, practice and accomplishment, and all of our activities are motivated to support this.
Love you Lama Choyang! So good to see your face again - I'm so glad to connect with you, even indirectly, addressing a topic so many people I love, including myself, are wrestling with. The mind boggles at the groundlessness, the body increasingly loses functionality, and everything we hoped and loved and expected.. we suddenly have to let it all go.. and reframe everything. People facing death are facing a kind of suffering, encouraged by our culture of fear and denial around the subject, that can be incomprehensibly terrifying. Helping people find peace, or at least some much needed comfort, during that period is so needed. Some of these places have become big corporate mills - when I recover my health and finances, I would love to visit and offer time, or some support of some kind. May all beings be so fortunate to have genuinely heart informed care for their transition from this life 🙏 - Thom's Son

This video explains a very esoteric Vajrayana Buddhist ritual practiced for centuries that assists people and animals during the transition following death. It is beneficial no matter when death occurred. Tashi Choling Center for Buddhist Studies in Oregon and Pema Osel Ling in California both hold this ritual annually. It's very inspiring to see this information available for the public. Thank you!
