Not too shabby indeed 👍🏼. Had to watch this again 😊. Got em both yesterday and took this exact Grand Duke for a quick pattern at St. Barths right after installing. Probably the best handling GA aircraft in the sim for me.
No way! Ima have to check that out! And that’s awesome man, we love the Duke! We are actually building our official review after logging some serious hours on the aircraft and give our honest review on it
At 7:21 you shut off the A/C, but it may be notable that the A/C compressor runs off of the right engine, which was dead, so A/C already wasn’t working. I don’t know if the A/C system still draws electric power when that compressor isn’t running, but in any event I think you could have turned it off immediately after the engine failure with no penalty.
That is a great point! I do remember reading about the A/C system briefly on the manual, but I don't recall anything about power to the system after the right engine has failed. Excellent point and thanks for bringing it up because during the recording, I was completely oblivious to that lol - Gonzo
That's actually an interesting proposition you've made there. Maybe we'll have to just put it to the test ourselves and see who performs better! Great idea!
Smooth tutorial. So soothing with the music and the delivery :) Thank you! Makes me wanna get the Piston Duke sooner than I was planning to. Still having fun and getting know the 737-800, SWS PC-12, and TBM 850 better. This piston Grand Duke just looks so sleek.
Thank you so much for the support and the feedback! All of those planes you mentioned are amazing aircraft and a lot of fun to fly in the sim! The Duke however has captivated our hearts!
Which gps are you using? Is it doing this every time? Have you tried going direct to? On the left hand side, the little square, does it say GPS? Or VLOC? I know a million questions lol if you’d like join our discord and we can further help you troubleshoot.
@@ilfordino-fordfiestatutori8725 interesting, I’d have to see what’s going on to get an understanding of why it won’t come out of heading mode. Again, more than welcome to join our discord, and maybe we can further help you to get it working right.
It also depends on the rate you are planning to descend with. Also important to take into account is a leveling off distance prior entering the circuit to bleed off excess speed. Cheers and happy flying Mark
a good channel so subscribed and I to realy like the Duke as I purchased the Piston Duke set. Thank You for a good video look forward to more content. PS I have the kodiak and TBM 850 enough turbine for me.
Absolutely LOVE this plane! I’ve been flying almost nothing else. I had a hard time hearing you over the engines, but that’s fine, because they sound so good! By the way, the manual says to turn the engine starter off, when your NG% reaches 52%. The engine will sustain itself from there, and save your battery. 🖖😀
Same here! We love this bird! And next time I’ll regulate the sound a bit so I can be heard! And good to know! I’ll start looking out for that 52% so I can take the starter off! Appreciate the feedback and support!
Great tutorial for a newcomer to the world of Duke. As a 75 year old, I am going all out to master the Duke and fly like a Pro. I have been flying with Microsoft Flight Simulator since the floppies, but with the arrival of FS2020 it has become a serious matter for me and I enjoy it every day and not like an old man.
We are tackling the Duke with the same mentality. It brings a new level of excitement and joy when we can do full flights and take advantage of all the systems that are modeled by Black Square. Thanks for stopping by and for the feedback!
Thanks for this video man. Haven’t seen too much out there on the ETM at all so this is good info. Keep up the videos cause I’m loving the attention to the Duke!
Thank you for the feedback! We are working on sharing our settings soon so stay tuned for that, as we might make it a general post on our Community section.
Make sure you don't have any keyboard or hardware (yoke, joystick) bindings that could be getting in the way of you clicking your ignition on. This has happened to me before and I've had to go through and verify a button or switch isn't flicked on my yoke or throttle.
@@thatflightsimchannel You are awesome that was it thank you! one mire thing tho: My Garmin Displays won´t come on if I turn on Master Avionics. Can I turn them on somehow?
This could be a number of different things, but lets start out with this. Check in your tablet your electronics tab and see if you can refresh /replace/ reload the batteries. We had a similar issue once and we were having a battery over temp caution on the batt temp gauge by the co-pilot side. We then proceeded to "replace" the batteries and everything worked as it should. This aircraft will remember what ever maintenance issue you are having for the next flights, so if its not fixed, it will stay there. For example, you can see how the engine health slowly starts deteriorating as you fly the aircraft more and more. If this doesn't help or change anything, shoot us an email so we can link you to our discord and we can have a more open troubleshooting thread and help you out. Cheers and happy flying!
@@ginkoletsplay6152 sorry to hear! Have you verified your Inverter switch (to the left of the avionics power) is in the “MN” position? Also, take a look at your circuit breakers and make sure none are sticking out. The Duke has a lot of simulated features that can catch us off guard, such as a popped circuit breaker.
@@thatflightsimchannel I was able to complete one successful startup with the Duke, but for some reasons now it just not working the same. I follow the startup procedure, however after statup, when the pitots are turn on and oil doors are open and ice deflect are turn on, theres an audiable rpm drop, the flap drop my themselves and the throttle goes limp and would not move. This is probably my 20th time attempting a succesful startup procedure to no avail.
@@noribsmith8604 interesting, have you checked your engine health and see what it looks like? You can see it on your tablet or on the weather radar it has a maintenance page. The engine health does deteriorate after a while, and could be affected more aggressively if the start ups weren’t done right. Let me know if you have any other questions, if you need further troubleshooting, email us thatflightsimchannel@gmail.com and we will send you a link to our discord so we can further help. 🙏
Great Tutorial! Thanks. I've had the Turbine Duke all of about 24 hours now, and I've been totally flummoxed at how to get the autopilot to work for me. This video made it abundantly clear. Good job!
Glad to hear we could help! That's why we make these types of videos and just remember, we're learning along with you our fellow watchers. Stay tuned for some more tutorials coming your way shortly!
I bought the turbine and piston package as soon as I could. Everything about these planes impress, and the tablet is absolutely brilliant. These planes are the high water mark for GA aircraft. No, I’m not a shill! Just a fan! 😜 Thanks for the upload! 🖖😀
Couldn’t agree more! I love it, I think it’s great for the team at Blacksquare to set the bar so high because eventually everyone else will have to produce that type of quality if they want market share, and in return we are going to keep getting better and better simming experiences! We appreciate the support and thanks for tuning in with us!
Excellent tutorial. I am glad I found your channel, and I have subscribed immediately. You have interesting tutorials, I have to watch them all ! I will buy both Dukes, piston and turbine, immediately after the release of SU15. Cannot wait and thank you very much !
Welcome aboard! Thanks so much for your support, it really means a ton to us and motivates us to continue creating these tutorials! Let us know what ever it is you are trying to learn or do on the sim and we will make it happen. If we don’t know it we’ll learn it 💪🏼🙏
@@thatflightsimchannel Thank you for your positive thoughts and words. Indeed, learning is a continuous process. I am looking forward to your future creations. Sincerely yours, Nick
Yes! Very important to have your pitch trim on, I forgot to mention this in the tutorial because the plane was ready for take off, but yes, pitch trim switch needs to be on
You are welcome! Glad you liked it! I’m actually at this point just reducing power through throttle, if I’m not mistaken part of the checklist before landing is to make sure propeller levers and conditioner levers are at max or all the way up and we just reduce throttle as needed. Hope it helps, if you have any other questions let us know!
Unfortunately for us simmers, this is a reality. The F-15E definitely has a lot of work still needed but in fairness, it has enough (for now) to get away from some of the other modules and try something new. But to your point, it is exactly why I haven’t felt too driven to keep making content on the mighty Strike Eagle. Thanks for dropping by 🤙🏼
@@thatflightsimchannel I just feel it's important people are made aware of this situation. The more I learn, the more reason I have to believe Razbam is at fault, and unfortunately I do not feel they can be trusted to do the right thing and come to a resolution with ED. I think their CEO has basically burned the studio to the ground.
Excellent video and great looking aircraft ...enjoyed that. Just wondering what your using to move the camera around? ..is it in vr? Or head tracking? , very smooth, clear and precise Thanks
I created a mission with static F-15Es and loaded up in my own F-15E across the ramp. I then ejected on the ground. When you eject from the Strike Eagle, you can walk the pilot around using your joystick. To rotate the camera you use your rudder pedals/Z-axis on your stick. For the actual “looking” motions you see, it is done with TrackIR 5. Hope this helps 👍🏼
The key advice here was focusing on the best rate of climb speed, or Vy. For a lot of novice fliers, these speeds may not really matter all that much. However, we intended to highlight that area of the video so simmers alike could start practicing by learning the aircraft's Vspeeds. Thanks for stopping by.
Dude. The F-15 series STOPPED using "turkey feathers" on the nozzles about when the F-15C began production. The F-15E NEVER had turkey feathers. Turkey feathers were the curved plates covering and streamlining the mechanism of the variable nozzles. The F-16 still uses them. Compare an F-16 nozzle to the F-15E and you'll see the difference. Turkey feathers were also deleted from the B-1B. Also, I'm pretty sure the single-color displays are MFDs (Multi Function Displays) and the full-color displays are MPCDs (Multi Purpose Color Displays).
Thanks for reply and for correcting me! I was wrongfully still addressing them as turkey feathers but, it makes total sense. And yes, you're absolutely correct with the MFD/MPCD distinction. Sometimes while I record, my brain is trying to stay ahead of the video and I tend to slip up. Instead of going back and recording again, I leave it in there so you guys can roast me.
@@toolsstop ooooh I see! Well, if you look closely you’ll see that the video is linked to the original video, and there you can get all the cool engine sounds in its purest and raw form! ❤️❤️
The turbine is pretty fast and climbs like a rocket. A good 3000 FPM or greater. Different engines means different sounds and management. The piston version is really a loud rumble and beautiful engine sound. However, the piston climbs a bit weaker. The grand Duke with winglets and enhancements gives the piston a bit more performance in climb and speed in cruise, with lower approach speed ability. I find the turbine to be easier to manage from a pilot perspective. Close the anti-ice deflectors on or near the ground to prevent FOD and just monitoring temps overall. In icing you would also close the ice deflectors. The piston requires you open the cowl flaps on the ground and in higher temps but close for descent in most cases to avoid shock cooling. I guess in some ways the planes are both similar from a pilot perspective, but the piston is more vulnerable to damage if not managed properly. The turbine is mostly just watching temps and keeping the ice deflectors/inertial separator from letting in ice or debris. I was enjoying the piston yesterday because of the sounds and newness, but when I went back to the turbine I was excited all over again for the fast climb rate. I really think most people should buy the bundle. It’s really a worthy investment. I love them a lot.
@@marclojak1639 I wouldn’t call the turbine too easy, as the procedures and cockpit panels are different in this aircraft. Like stated above, all three variations are lovely and each present a unique experience wether from start Up to flying performance. Highly recommend going with the bundle 🙏
We're not too sure if it'll be available on the marketplace just yet, but it should be coming. Either way, JustFlight makes it really easy. You just purchase it, download it, and run the installer and that's it :)
It will be heading to the marketplace yes. But for now can't say exactly when. First SU15 needs to release then further work, if required, to be done on the Dukes and then when the dev is happy we'll submit it. Likely to be at least a few weeks off yet though. Hope that helps.
I’ve been waiting for the Duke for ages in the flight sim world. Glad to see you guys got it and I’m loving the walkthrough so far you guys did. Really helps to learn more about the aircraft
