Hello and welcome to Puntigames. My name is Didi and I am a solo game-developer. My passion are strategy games, especially those with historical context.
I like what I see and bought the game. Issue is the mouse goes all the way up to the left. Is this a Unity game? I have a full flight sim setup connected so disconnecting all that with all the axis etc I have to re-do. Ended up disconnecting all my controllers so I could at least give the game a try. Game worked good for about 1hr then it started freezing & bugging out, like whatever queue's I click (for flying, for getting into map etc) it just freezes and bugs out so I cant do anything, really unstable.
I am currently watching this video, trying to learn how the various systems work. So, may I ask why you have pilots with confirmed victories posted in Pilot Training, as opposed posted to a Jasta?
That was my original plan and I built the game structure accordingly. But unfortunately I had to realize that as a solo developer without multiplayer experience I wouldn't stand a chance, sorry.
I made the sails in Blender and the ropes in the game engine itself. The materials of the bricks are also self-made to get the plastic effect. The prints on the figures and pieces are done with decals in the game engine.
In that case you deserve all respects - you must have lots of work in your hands. I will keep an eye on the development of your game and I wish you lots of success. @@Puntigames
Looks interesting with some neat concepts. The video is awfully dark though, I found your steam page as well and the picture look dark too. It is almost like there is a darken filter applied, might consider some lut changes to brighten it up and bring out some more color, as currently a lot of the detail from planes breaking up or just the terrain feel like it's compete with the dark tint.
Thanks for the offer but I already have an excellent guy who made a great soundtrack for the game (not this one in the trailer). You will hear it soon when the game is released :)
No, I don't like free-to-play models with micro transaction bulls***. I will release the full game with mod support...old school. But to a fair indie-title price. It will be released for pc with controller support. If it sells well I would think about porting it also to consoles.
Sorry, it needs at least a middle class gaming pc...too much simulation going on for phones. And I am afraid I can't give it away for free as it took me almost two years full time development already and also all my savings to make it.
Only my Discord channel, but it is very quiet at the moment...discord.gg/yf9nc4bwse I concentrate a lot on finishing the game so I do not spend much time in showing stuff at the moment. When everything works as expected I think I can release an early access version in November or December this year.
Oh my gawd Red Baron by Dynamix, memories! I had the manual back then I think and kept reading it repeatedly as a kid! Not sure how it'll turn out but I hope it will turn out well! BACKED!!!
Interesting: seems like maybe old War Thunder (in the sense of combining realistic physics with approachable control via AI) while also adding a strategic aspect? Has my attention
I'm also very curious about moddability? Some of us would be interested in potentially adding more aircraft (if they don't get added in a sequel or DLC - note: I don't think you should entirely rule out paid expansions). It might also be good to have the menus/file-structure allow for sub-variants of aircraft (e.g. two gun vs. one gun; or different engines).
The minimum will be that you can add your own paintings and insignies to the game. Sub variants are also in my mind. In the end as long as the demand for the game justifies the work I will add as many features as possible.
Very interesting. The one thing I really miss from the first Red Baron is the mission structure! The strategic element should also be interesting to see return though. I'm curious how you'll handle artillery spotting and reconnaissance?
My idea is that you will get requests from the military high command to send reconnaissance planes to certain areas or to perform attacks on balloons, airfields and so on. For that you earn points that you can then invest in your airforces or research etc. I am really looking forward how this will all come together in the end.
Really cool game-concept! I already tried the Demo on Steam. Especially the damage model sets this one apart. The damage doesn't just look good in the trailer, it feels super real in the game itself. I'd recommend to try the demo immediately if one is into WW1 and aerial combat in general!
Great indie game At hard difficulty it is really hard, Gaul almost has 9 full armies. And another thing I dont like is legionairres dying to archers with daggers one on one
As you can see now with the North vs South Mod guns make some fun but with the limitation of the 2D battles it does not make that much fun on the long run. For the next game I will go for voxel 3D. That would allow tactial positioning and so it would make sense.
I agree to the other guys, this game seems to run out of content after 1 or 2 playthroughs. If you get naval battles, expand the map to the med and north britain, and add other factions. Then you can sell for easily 20 to 30 dollars.
I will do that for sure, but more likely in a new game. The code for this one is not really scaleable, unfortunately. For now I am implementing a good mod support for the battles. This will bring some more hours of fun (hopefully).
@@Puntigames is it possible to have different campaigns then? Like the punic wars, Caesar in Britain, or even the conquest of Iberia or the Balkan? Btw the game looks and feels great. Super satisfying to play 👍
@@eastern_fox1238 Thanks, I am glad you like it! :) At the moment I would tend to make the next game not so specific regarding a time period. I would like to span it from ancient times to gunpowder age with a dynamic development of nations. But this is just an idea. I don't know if that would not be too much for a solo-dev.
Units need xp and levels/ Slightly more dynamic battle maps. rivers hills and stuff. Bigger campigan map more factions. Bang it out for 20-25 quid. You already have half of the assets needed. Look forword to the next one. :)
