I love gesso.. I like to apply the paint with an angled brush. I dip the tip in paint/ inktense, and pull it around the objject, or whatever. It gives a nice gradient effect
I have such a hard time using my clear gesso on darker paper. It leaves streaks and looks horrible. I’m going to try using less at a time and not try to rush getting it on my paper.
or you could try avoid the darkest spots and not add gesso at all, I know how you feel as I have the same thing when it's a dark paper... my gesso does the same and I don't like it
@@MaremiSmallArt I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one that happens to. I’ve been thinking about trying Finnabair clear Gesso to see if the brand makes a difference or not.
I love clear gesso. Sad that Little Birdie is no longer available. On my last order I accidentally ordered white;( Sometimes I use gel medium to glue down & top with gesso. I've heard that Mod Podge can turn yellow with time and this is why I've never used it. I don't know if it's true or not. Maybe someone can help verify. Thanks for this video & I'm looking forward to the comparison one.
I am team gesso too, I have use it for a while now and it's great, clear gesso is a really must have with those kind of projects.. thanks lovely Marta for the video. Hugs 😊
Thank you so much for this!! I've had a bottle of Liquitex Clear Gesso for years and I don't think I've ever used it. Just a couple of weeks ago I bought a 100ML bottle of Little Birdie Clear Gesso at one of the few art/craft supply shops left around me. I remembered that in the past you mentioned Little Birdie products quite a bit so I decided to try it. I think the bottle you were using in the video is Little Birdie. I'm sorry to hear it is no longer available so I'm glad I bought one. I look forward to the video when you compare different gessoes with Mod Podge matte medium. I am not a fan of Mod Podge and won't use it on my projects. I'm really looking forward to your test results. Thank you for continuing to inspire us!
I'm glad you did this test, Marta. I just bought gesso for the 1st time. I'm in the learning stages with you as my teacher. I can see the importance of clear gesso but I also bought white gesso too for some of your other projects. I think you are right . Gesso is a needed supply. Thank you for showing this. ❤️❤️❤️
This video is a very good idea. I recommend replacing the transparent gesso with modpoge. I have some feedback that it's not great. I never tried. I'll have to test it. Thank you for your explanations which are always welcome for me ❤❤ Hugs❤❤
Dont wish for the silence to often marta.it will soon come perminent.my kids i love the chatter the squeels and laughter from my girls.the constant chatter even the mammy mammy tell her.lol i so wish for yhose days back.as annoying sometimes it was i prefer it to silence decending in my hqq vioce coming from my phone lol both these turned out so nice just beautiful ukouse now you only hear martas

Am i able to suggest something? I love watching and don’t often comment. But i think either the micro phone or the recording device are really near your mouth every time you take a breath its really loud and i have sensitive ears are you to move it slightly. I love love watching you but i tend to avoid it sometime because of that and i love watching talkers lol. I get bored if i don’t hear the artist talking. Ps i hope this doesn’t come off disrespectful, lots of love!!

I used to moan when my children were your kiddies ages being busy etc.then senior school came and life just whizzed by.i dont remember seeing change of them both from teenagers to young women.like hanah now years are slower birthdays just make them a year older so its easy to prepare for growing up.but once 3rd year senior came.everyone changed im dealing with young women.and sudenly giong to college then work boyfriends the whole dinamics of family was gone as i was used to.control of keeping everyone safe holidays girls go thier own way.then thier leaving home.call me old fashioned but i wasnt prepared.i assumed after engagements.weddings would be from home then babies.but no everything was completly diferent.i nursed my mum for 12 years to me it was an honour.but sadly im 74 and our close family .my girls as i say dont give a damn.its hard family christmases stopped g.kids came and stopped.1 My first born hasnt spoke for 20 years?? I have begged why?? But nothing my second simple MONEY. So im telling you marta love and enjoy them every day.tell them you love them as i did.but i hope your children will always have a place in thier hearts for you.we never rowed in our house.yes my husband and i but never in front of kids.i will never know.but i have my memories of 2 loving giggly little girlswho would always bring me dandilions for mothers day lolyour hannah i love to listen too and watch.lifes too short thank you beautiful cards im giong to try to make these marta 🇬🇧
