I am still having a Sanyo plv Z800 and very very happy on it. I would say, with confidence that this is one of the best midrange projector on the market. After 10 years(!!! how time is moving!!!!), I see no reason in order to change for "better one". Sanyo has made a very good JOB making a standard/home projectors . Congratulation! Thank you Lars for that video, it really helps people in order to replacement a lamp.
@AUDIO MAN Ok??? I would say Epson projectors are better they have more lumens on the lamp and more quality of HDMI an Epson projectors actually has beep sounds when you press the power button
I was warry about my lamp about 7 years ago when was 1800 hours, then I buyed a lamp on Amazon for 100€ about. But today, after 5700 hours , the original lamp is still in its place. Now the cost of the lamp is very, very less. I dont know if I have to replace it without wait the end of it, or it's better to wait. What you suggest me? This projector is amazing. I use it for racing simulation and the latency is very good.
Hi Mr. Lars, I just found your video about changing the lamp. Very good. Thank you about the information. I have a projector just like yours and there is something that I would like to ask you. It is a Sanyo PLV-Z2000. Do you know if I can mount it at the ceiling using a ceiling mount? Would it stay upside down? I've used it on a sheld since have bought it. Thank you very much
I'm thinking of upgrading PLV-Z5 to Z2000. I'm more than happy with my Z5, but I can get Z2000 for a really good price (now). I'm wondering if you have noticed any difference between old (stock) vs new (cheap) lamp. Of course your old one had some mileage, so it was not as bright anymore, but are you able to say that cheap 30€ works just as well. Also you can control the receiver with Android / iPhone app (most of the things), so no need for LCD output :) I'm also using ECO mode on Z5, but damn, that Z2000 is much quieter - must get it. I think you need to reset the lamp counter once you replace the lamp (see the manual, page 50)
While the OEM lamp lasts for 6 to 8 years on ECO mode, the knock-off lamps last around 1-2 years before popping. I know because I am on my third Amazon replacement lamp (from different sellers). Even with this, I cannot justify the OEM price for the Sanyo. I will buy the replacement OEM bulb on the next projector I get on day one. Hopefully, it will be LED or Laser and not need a replacement.
@@lho77 Any difference in the lumens? Ive just replaced my Z4 with a Z3000 wow what a difference. The bulb currently has 1260hours. Ill be ordering a lmp114 soon. Great video. I got my z3000 for $275! Like new.
