I’m a beginner. My orchid has not bloomed again since the flowers fell off months ago however many green stalks are growing out of the main part of the plant. I assume these will be where the new flowers bloom. The only problem that these new stalks are growing straight out and not up. So how do I get these to grow in the right direction because they are stiff and if I try to bend them and attach them to a support I think they will snap. I have been watering them once a week and plan to repot them with Miracle Grow. I know I must be using wrong terminology but I’m new to this. Also the original stalk does not seem to be doing much although there are a few very tiny blue leaves on them. I don’t know if I should cut it off or leave it to see what happens. Thanks!
You can leave them as they are, and wait for the flowers to bloom on the new plants. Perhaps the mother plant is too old or the inorganic fertilizer regimen is unbalanced. If you want to have more plants, you can separate them and plant them separately when each seedling has more than 3 roots and is longer than 3cm. In addition, when separating seedlings, you should choose the season when the roots are growing, avoid separating when the tree is dormant
