LEO (koto artist) Born in Yokohama, Japan in 1998. He first encountered the koto, a Japanese stringed musical instrument, at the age of 9 while attending the Yokohama International School.At 14, he won the Grand Prize in the All Japan Koto Competition for elementary and junior high school students. At 16, he became the youngest musician to be awarded the Grand Prize by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in the Kumamoto All Japan Hogaku Competition which is a Japanese music competition. He made his major debut in 2017 with his first album, "Leo 1st."In 2019 he received the "29th Idemitsu Music Award".
