She was stunning in her early years, but then went the zany route, though that convertor belt scene is brilliant. It used to be that I Love Lucy was being shown somewhere around the world 24hrs a day.
@@WhatEddieSaw for horror, I recommend Lovecraft and sci fi writers such as Philip Dick, George Orwell, Herbert Wells, Isac Asimov (the classics) and such. I am not sure exactly which I could recommend if you are looking to getting a horror writing since nothing scares me much. But regarding Stephen King, the only title from him would be "Shining".
Hilton Head was given to former slaves after Civil War. It had no running water or Electricity. In 1970, Hotels wanted to buy Hilton Head from the slave decendants. Big Hotels ran hot water and electricity to themselves, but would not help local residents access hot water or electricity. The slave relatives were forced out by the big all white Hotels and resorts. Hilton head has a very racist history, abusing the blacks and helping White resorts to flourish. A very ugly beginning in 1970. Smith and Van Der Meer were part of the White resorts, displacing local black residents, decendants of slaves. Enjoy your vacation at Hilton Head, knowing the ugly, racist past. This story was told to me by a former slave decendant from Hilton Head Island. His relatives were the slaves, who were given Hilton Head Island, when it was gator infested swamp. Then pushed out by White Resorts like Sea Pines
It's not mentioned in this video (like a lot of things that were oddly unmentioned-I say 'oddly,' given the reference to "resilience") but prior to his success with "Peanuts" he actually experienced a lot of failure & rejection with his cartoons. He submitted cartoons to various publications & syndicates all around the country & was rejected by all of them. In his youth, he even applied for a position at Walt Disney, for which he received a...polite letter informing him that they only accepted the most talented artists...and that didn't include him, unfortunately. So when he finally successfully sold one of his comic strips to a newspaper & got a response stating, "Check in mail," he was so used to rejection, he assumed they meant that he should check his mail, that they were going to send the cartoon back.
The weird thing is given the world is round and the international dateline in Asia, the Middle East and Russia his final strip was being delivered at the time he died. He couldn’t live without them.
I am making a personal decision not to watch AI generated content. The VO is clearly AI. Evident from the mispronouncing of "Linus," a character whose name has been well-known for over 60 years. The name itself is ancient. I quit the video when I heard how the CGV butchered it.
After seeing the evidence that was presented back in November/December, why would *anyone* still be singing the praises of this backstabbing extortionist?
Good video about the great writer: Louis L'Amour, but sadly at the end of the video about a real American that served his country in uniform, and actually knew that you cannot get 7 shots from a six-shooter,,,, the video page company puts up the photo of goofy rodent-like W.A.. Ugh! B.T.W. "empowerwawe" Jamestown, N.D. is not exactly "quaint". Jamestown has nearly 16,000 people. A university, an airport, two TV stations and 12 radio stations. A National Guard Unit. There are manufacturing companies. It has a newspaper. A hospital. It is along I-94. It also has the world's largest statue of a bison, and the Jamestown library has a room/section named for Louis L'Amour. 🙂
