I get nutritious food : salads + proteins ; at the cafeteria adjacent to the Estadio Olympica pools. Cost is about 1 / 3 of your Mondongo restaurant prices. I avoid sugars and fructose. I minimize carbohydrates which digestion converts to sugars. I like mornings coffee at La Margarita on La 70
Guatemala city is a great place to visit. I know the comments of foreigners, dont stay in Guate city, go directly to Antigua, but it is not true, actually Guate city on the touristic places is pretty safe. What to visit in Guate city, here is the list. 1. Ciudad Cayalá 2. Aurora zoo, great park, with lots species to see and a lot of nature. 3. Spindle top restaurant Vista 15. The only rotating restaurant in central america. 4. Zona viva, great bars and restaurants and hotels, it is the economic district of Guatemala 5. 4 grados norte hipsty zone of the city. 6. Relief Map, wonder of architecture, done when there was not google earth maps or any social media, the accuracy of the map is impecable. Pasos y pedales on sunday in avenida Las Americas, every country in the americas has it park there, at the end of the avenue is parque Berlin with actual big pieces of the Berlin wall. Walk sexta avenida, go to el portal, that was a bar visited by che Guevara and Fidel Castro, that is where they plan the Cuban revolution, they have pictures of che Guevara and the table, where he used to seat, there is still a hole in the ceiling where being drunk he shot up to the ceiling. Tour Palacio Nacional de la Cultura. Visit Oakland Mall, and Fonta Bella malls. Visit IRTRA PETAPA, Thematic park in Guate city. That is just for Guate city. Guatemala has 22 departments yall visited just like 3 of the, waz up with the other 19 department. There are wondeful lakes, rivers, volcanoes, cities that yall still need to discover. SANTIAGO DE LOS CABALLEROS DE GUATEMALA. That was its name. Santo Domingo has an annex 1/2 hour up in tne mountain called TENEDOR DEL CERRO. Awesome place. You guys need to mingle a little bit with the locals, so yall know. I guess yall miss CIUDAD CAYALÁ , HA
Im guatemalan, i remember in semana santa we headed to puerto san jose, check likin, we spent must if the the time swimming over the waves, sometimes dolphins came and swim with us. Yall needed a local to swim through the waves.

Just got back. I was blown away. I usually can take it or leave it with tostones but the ones at the Reggae Bar were addictive! Went down to Puerto Viejo. Black and White beaches very special and EMPTY!!!! By the way how can I rent that place out? My friend lives right around the corner. And I’d like do a day of relaxed snorkeling 🤿 as well. You guys are a sweet clean looking couple. Keep loving each other!
Glad you had an awesome time! We love tostones and they didn’t disappoint anywhere we went. You can go directly on their website to book them out. They’re a small property with several villas and so worth it! The snorkeling is as relaxed as it gets. 🙌🙌

@@VoyageoftheSantaMarias We’ll be in Guatemala City for 3 nights, San Pedro for 6, Chichicastenango for 1 night, and Antigua for 7 before a final overnight in GUA before we fly back. We’re doing a Spanish Language School in San Pedro.
Just a suggestion, when you're gonna eat the empanada, bite it first, and then you put the aji sauce (chili) inside the empanada and then you eat it. That's the way we Colombians do.
This is very central and close to the tourist area. The daytime is pretty safe, however we would suggest exercising caution and awareness in the nighttime
