Hola Jorge! Eso no va a ser un negocio de lo tamano suficiente para pedir la visa. Tenemos que tener un negocio activo, que requiere mucha actividad laboral. No mas rentar una casa no vale para la visa de inversionista porque no es un negocio "activo" según la ley.

Hello! Great question. The family could move to the US only once the E-2 visa is approved. The main person who applies for the visa can only work for the E-2 business, so it's important to structure the business properly from the beginning to include all potential business opportunities. The spouse can work anywhere they would like, including remotely for a foreign business (if permitted by that foreign country). In your scenario it sounds like neither husband nor wife already has a US business up and running.
