Pnut's playing is so damn smooth, man. Love his tone and his style. Whoever mixed this is a total boss - any aspiring bassist can listen to this and hear every nuance of how he plays it live. Great song, great performance, great recording!
This was the song that made me take a deeper interest in 311. It was late August 2001. I was 18 years old and on a flight back home from my very last real summer vacation with my family. My brother had bought From Chaos and had it in the discman when I asked to use it for the 2 hour flight back. Instead of listening to whatever I was going to put in, I instead decided to listen to the 311 album since it was brand new and I had heard and liked the song Do You Right. This song however, and more specifically the intro and the guitar interlude, caught my ear as it was remarkably beautiful to hear as I watched the sun set out the plane window. A few days later, I bought Grassroots and have been hooked ever since. Brothers from another planet not of hypocrisy.
my wife and I were there. She was pregnant with first son. After "whose got the herb" kicked off, she could only hang so long. My boy is the most mellow kid in the world and I attribute it to this 311 concert. Awesome incredibly long concert like concerts SHOULD be!
