Timing is everything! I’m now on 54mg and have never slept better. I set my alarm for 6am, reach over to my night table and take it. If I need to get up, I get up. If I can sleep, I fall back asleep. I started to question my doctor if it’s adhd because after taking 36mg for a few months, I was still chaotic. When I say chaotic I just mean those days you don’t actually finish a single thing but spend the day bouncing from idea or task to another and completing nothing. I just got out on 54mg two days ago and I have been in bed by 10:30 and passed out by 11. This is the first time I’ve had two nights in a row waking up feeling rested. It’s crazy to me! I’m scared to tell my doctor I still take it and can go back to sleep because I know there’s only limited increments of dosage and I am 100% not trying a different medication that I could get addicted to or anything like adderol because I have overcame an eating disorder(sorta?), alcohol and coke abuse. He completely understands, respects and is inline with that choice. Knowing I have an eating disorder and the effects of adhd meds, he also told me if I lost weight he would immediately stop my prescription. I gained lol since gaining weight, I’m not losing crazy amounts of hair everyday like I have for a few years, I sleep better and the man who has my heart still showers me with compliments and is turned on whenever we connect. At 34 years old I feel like my life is finally starting to iron out a tad and it’s genuinely the best feeling ever. Also, I’m not a rager when I get angry or sad, all of my internal externally presents as a cry baby. Whatever, I’d rather be a cry baby than rage.

Also be aware anxiety medication can cause hair loss your doc will say it’s a very rare effect

I take only 10 - 20mg at a time, depending on the day, how I'm feeling and what I'm doing. I can hardly imagine being on higher doses - on 20mg the dry mouth and constant thirst is starting to get annoying. But it's also not my main line of treatment - I take atomoxetine (non-stimulant, probably most common brand name would be Strattera), in combination with a stimulant when extra focus and motivation is needed (so mostly during the work week with breaks on most weekends) and it works quite well for me. My stimulant is also the quick release version (I have tried the extended one and I noticed I don't like it - I was getting jittery in the afternoons/evenings, like the stimulation was a bit too much), so it works for approximately 4h.
@EwaKamczyc
@EwaKamczyc 15 дней назад
Since I take the stimulant mostly as an assistance with my work (or sometimes chores, but work/learning is the biggest one), I notice I don't always need a second dose during the day. Sometimes I manage to get hyperfocused enough in what I'm doing during the first 4 hours that I just go with the flow

2:07 I do the same! that is a good advice imho. <3 and yes, be very mindful about the hours you're taking it. also, your comment on the stable blood sugar is sooo essential and you're the first RU-vidr to mention it so far... from what I've seen. it will decrease the possibility to get a headache from concerta. love your video. great job, Patrick.

I'm gonna try green tea. an interesting input, thank you! I don't seem to have side effects when drinking coffee while on concrete but am genuinely interested to drink less coffee. great, you're bringing this up.

My experience has been the opposite. The constant stream of random thought is a little quieter. But I can select a thought and hang onto it develop it a little more and come to a conclusion or decision before letting it go again.

It works for me. I use less Xanax now. I use 4 drops. 5 drops is to high. Because of my autism im sensitive for medication. It helps to be a bit more flexible. I can handle a bit more changes and noises. I use drops instead of pills because I could start really low. ( started with 2 drops) when I took 5 drops I couldn’t cry, I was very dizzy, hartbeat was below 48. Felt depressed and my legs were tired, had a headache.

I never comment, but this is the first time I've see someone else say they did their entire enlistment without medication. I remember seeing my rack mate in boot camp getting kicked out and my Senior Drill Instructor telling us that my rack mate mentioning why boot camp was so hard for him was because he had ADHD, of which my Senior said he's being prosecuted for fraudulent enlistment. I did 5 years in the Marine Corps, too afraid to reach out for professional help because I could not afford to be kicked out of the military. It was Hell for me and everyone around me could physically see it was Hell for me, but no one helped me at all.

I dokt know why people keep saying propranolol is "safer" than benzos. Maybe safer in terms of addiction, but not safer in what it does in the body. I feel mkre comfortable taking a sedative than a blood pressure tablet when i have no blood pressure issues, only anxiety

Same. It helps me not feel tired because my circadian rythym is perpetually out of whack due to sleep problems with adhd, and it gives me a dopamine hit. It does not help my focus.

Unfortunate the powerful, popular narratives are for stimulates $$$$$$. Myself adhd autistic I corrected ALL ! Of my adhd bads by removing chemicals from diet brain is sensitive, eat mostly organic, since I do not eat alot and not varied I began supplementing basics and supplements adhd are low in. Added high dose of l-tyrosine and Boom! In one day I am all good. My adhd asd RSD took 3 months but also disappeared. Time blindness, Zone out..freeze also gone. Was on 4-2023. Are clinical advise dopamine diet works but is buried on the web under the new popular narratives. I focused helping my brain create naturally Dopamine. Autism is also affected by dopamine highly.

Do not take regularly if you think seeing visions is scary when you wake in middle of night accidentally. I and others have seen very scary strange visions. I've been off and see no more since over year ago. Don't be fooled. It was a literal nightmare for me.

My problem now is that I wake up too early, like 6 hours of sleep isn't barely enough for me and I'm like a zombie all day. I tried to make the room dark and use a sleep mask with little results. Tomorrow I'll try to skip a day on both concerta and Vitamine B12

After trying many medications for years, and adjusting concerta over time I’ve found that 36mg x2 (one tablet upon waking and another tablet no later than 12pm) works best at controlling my symptoms all day with no noticeable downtrend when I have to go to bed. This method has worked wonders for my anxiety and allowed me to cut my benzodiazepine dosage in half almost immediately.

I started with 18 mg, the first day was amazing, the moment it kicked in it was like a cloud of thoughts just dispersed away from my head, I felt such a weird clarity and I was so excited, that day I did the most random tasks I had been avoiding for months (sorting a bag full of unmatched black socks that were all different), then the next week I started with 36 mg, it made me get irritated so quickly, although that might have been because I also started my period that day, and of course, period, hormones and adhd is just not a pleasant mix, now I’m on 54mg, it feels good, and yes, I agree on the part about being horny, I thought I was just being a little obsessive over it, but if it’s not just me… 😅😬

To me the 18mg only increases my anxiety if I didn't sleep enough, otherwise it actually improves my anxiety a bit
