I’m curious as to how well your 9 speed holds up to the power increase. Are you not approaching the limit of the 9Gtronic? I’m looking at tuning mine presently.
@@HateAndFlame Oh! I didn’t do it to mine! I’m from Brazil and it would get too expensive and complex to send my turbos to them, get the upgrade and have them back. It’s a shame. There’s another option to just swap the turbos and remap. The Mcchip- dkr have a good video about that, although it’s not as powerful as Weistec. I opted for a Stage 2 plus remap by Rrhamani and decated downpipes. Thing is the tuners find that they can’t increase much the turbos boost because the engine begins to starve at higher rpm’s. I would have to swap the injectors and maybe the fuel pump. So, the best way was to have just a modest max hp (400 at the engine) and very good mid range power (up to 72hp). About the transmission, it is perfect with those gains in more than one year driving. I read on the internet that the limit with the 9Gtronic (as all transmissions) is not the hp but the torque. If I remember that transmission can stand up to 516 lb-ft/ 700nm. Mine is only 402nm. I’m very pleased with that considering the use of that car. On the straights, it can overtake my friends various 987 Cayman S with much power to spare.

So, I went for a stage 2 remap (sport filter/decat downpipes and custom remap). The tuner said that he couldn’t use too much boost, because the engine shows signs of starvation at higher rpm’s. The car would need bigger injectors and maybe a stronger fuel pump. He was conservative and we end with only 400 engine horsepower (only 35 hp over stock) but up to 70hp in the mid range rpm’s. The problem with the transmission is about max torque. I read in the internet that the 9Gtronic is good for 700nm. I have only 402nm. After a year, it still perfect. The car is not a monster. But the power is very good. I have some friends with 987 Cayman S and the SLC 43 AMG can easily overtake them on the straights. I hope I helped!

I ran into the same problem with the passenger side- it was 24 degrees out and said hell nah... next time. But how is it so far with just the one side installed? any issues? Can you still hear it from inside the cabin? Thanks
no issues with the one side install but we decided to take it off for now just to ensure even wear and tear on both turbos. you can still here it very loudly inside cabin just from one so that was cool. Once nicer weather comes, we'll probably do it properly and put both in since we may be doing other small mods. So we'll try to one shot since we'll be under the hood anyways.
