Hey there, my name is David Smart a.k.a Dr. Duce. I’m a qualified music technology specialist lecturer and I hold a Masters Degree in Popular Music Production. I am very active in the music industry as a musician, songwriter, music producer and mentor.
Over the past few years I have been posting videos teaching how to develop and improve music production skills with particular emphasis on Apple Logic Pro X. My videos are aimed at beginners and professionals alike. So if you are feeling what I’m doing then please like videos and subscribe to my channel as this will really help and will be greatly appreciated.
For more infomation about MTTC go to my website and follow me on my social media channels. Thanks for your visit 😀
Thanks for asking Allen. If you check the video description you will see a download link for the project file. Grab that and download the project to get the full sound 😀
I recall Studio One has a quantize function like that. You can drag any rhythmic material to this lil section up top and it’ll set the quantization to that groove. Then, any track you quantize to the session will embody some percentage of that swing. People would always put in the cloud store the quantizarion clock of classic units like “MPC 3000 15 percent/30 percent/etc.” which is fine, but you could also put a whole Dilla or Dibia$e track in there if you wanted to extract THEIR swing from a given project. Seems like this is similar.
I’ve not spent much time using Studio One although I love their audio hardware. This ability to analyse rhythmic information using transient data and then mapping to a destination audio file is fantastic and if used well can produce some great results. Cheers for the feedback 😀🙏🏾
You said if I full an audio loop into my project it’s gonna automatically link to the same tempo, my question is what about midi loop does it automatically link the tempo to my project? Help please thanks again🙏
Thanks for your question Lisa. In short the answer is YES. MIDI loops sync to the tempo of your Logic project when pulled in from the Loops Library in Logic. Also if you imported a MIDI loop that was created in another DAW, that too would also sync to the project tempo as any 4 or 8 or 16 bar midi loop will be read as exactly that in any project irrespective of the underlying tempo. Hope this helps 😀
If I take almost finished 3 minute song track has synths and vocals and arrangement and it needs matching melodic rhythmic bass and drums can I do it here basically automatically like ai matches spacing of chords and with ongoing varying notes in each bar over 3 minutes as a noobie? Like scaler 2 than Captain plug-ins or ezkeys to ezdrummer 3 add in ez bass? What’s the best easy way? Limiting sidechain noise ducking problems maximizing groove beat energy
Thanks for your questions. First of all I have not used any of the other plugins you have mentioned so I can’t comment on what they are capable of. However the Logic Session Players Bass and Keys are driven by your effective use of the chord track. This is what guides the players in the direction of your music progression. They will not analyse parts of a song as you have mentioned and then adapt to the direction of your preproduction. So I think you are unlikely to get the results you are looking for with these AI tools.

Yes my friend. You enter the chord progression for the section then make a few adjustments and the AI does the rest. It’s insane how quickly things are developing in this area. 💯
@@MTTC it’s a lot more satisfying to, say, hear a 9th and then sing, play, or write it. It would be nice to take a pill to make you look ripped but being ripped doesn’t make you an athlete in the same way producing things doesn’t make you an artist. I’d rather go to the gym if I want to get ripped, and also I’d rather be an athlete than just have a good looking body.
Adjusting the fill complexity is really simple Steven. You can of course easily remove fills from each drummer region by setting the Fills control to Zero. Have a play around it’s incredible 😀
@@MTTCoh, well it ruins the middle but fixed the end; maybe can slice it up more; it would be awesome to turn off the end of region fill without changing the rest of the region. Midi?
Not a game changer, have used that all along; problem lies with complex, multi time signatures and more jazz/ related tunes - getting Logic drummer into the realm of adequate seems quite tricky to impossible!?!?
Really appreciate your efforts man!! Guitarist here with lots of song ideas/progressions but i always give up because i cant get human drum sounds. This video wad gamechanging.
@@MTTC Haha just got a notification you responded! Been watching a lot of your videos and I really dig ur vibe. For real radiate positivity bro! Just got a new job and will be donating a lil something my first paycheck! God bless
@@colins9559 Bro I am in the process of making my summer reggae video vibe. Hopefully it will drop next weekend so stay tuned. Thanks for your awesome support in whatever way you can give it. Very grateful indeed my brother. Blessing multiplied 🙏🏾
There are two words that really irritate me. ULTIMATE & FREE. Nothing is ultimate. Even if it's great, 5 minutes from now there will be something better. Free means without cost or obligation. If I have sing, dance, write an essay, or anything else in exchange for something else, its NOT FREE. An example. If you pay for Amazon Prime, it lists your "free movies". The subscription paid for them. A product that advertises free shipoing, it's not free, it's included in the price. Or they say you get a free book, just pay for the shipping. NONSENSE. The shipping & handling charge covers that, plus the cost of the book, and there is a profit made, no matter how small.
