I've had many Road Glides and street glides for 20 years and I guess I just got used to people rolling their eyes, test rode an Indian loved it then bought a 2019 chieftain darkhorse, after a couple hours I had to get off of it (just in time for a fuel stop) just like all the Harleys I've had. 2022 I rented a challenger for a day and holy shit... I didn't hurt! I didn't want to get off! Sooo I ordered a 2023 challenger dark horse ICON and got it October 2022, done all kinds of mods to it, still waiting for the ECU to be hacked just like Harley guys are waiting for to get rid of that blasted 115 mph limiter. BUT best of all.. no more eye rolling from my friends and family I'm no longer a ROLLING CLICHÉ
Just made my transition to Indian from Harley...traded my '16 Ultra limited for 23 Pursuit. The seat did get some getting used to as you are right up on the tank...but it is still very comfortable....the handling and power if FAR superior to my ultra limited.....I think I will stick with Indian for a long time.
I've been running Cardo Edge for 3 months. Going back to Sena SRL-Mesh (50s for Shoei helmets). While the Edge has far better background noise cancellation, volume is much louder, and audio quality is a bit better, Cardo Mesh range is shorter, battery life if shorter, and connections between with the bike and phone are problematic. Finally Cardo customer service has been pretty much non-responsive. Sena at least answers the phone and emails. If
I absolutely love my Roadmaster. Plenty of power, very planted, comfortable for days, overall it's just great. And I'm starting to notice a lot more Indians even though I live in a small Oregon town. It's not because you just notice what you own, but more likely because a lot more people are switching to Indian.
That actually looks really good. I got the Harley one, could have saved a ton going with Advan. Anyway, Amazon has some dope luggage bags that work out great for traveling. They fit in the side bags and the tour pack perfectly! Just pull them out and head to the hotel. They are cheap and get to your door quick! 🤘
Coming from someone who has put miles on both of these bikes. The right bike won. The Challenger is for those who want a quite smooth ride down the road. The Chieftain is a mean bitch that just wants to kill everything in its path! For me, I prefer raw feeling the Chieftain gives off. Good review.
(Pours one out for the homie who wasn't there) Little does Josh know you were just lamenting his absence as he later rolls up.... #thebromanceisreal #ferda #ferdaboys #somuchroomforactivities #pamperedpillionprincess
John from Cyclefanatix says Rick Rack has a nice cloth insert for the inside of all your bags if you’re looking for something like that so things aren’t rolling around?
I have cardo my buddies have sena and I gotta send them this so they make the switch. Cardo may be a little more difficult to connect the group but overall it’s better 😎. Great video!
Thanks!! We agree too, we used Sena's for our moto trips up until this point, and we are hyped to make the switch, so far it's been better. Even noticed better battery performance too
I thought the challenger was my dream bike and was ready to walk in and buy it out right. Then I took it for a ride... and I didn't love it... Felt bulky, the faring was so large, I felt like there was an open suitcase in front of me. Everything felt extra wide apart and I didn't find it that comfortable after a 30 min ride. I didn't buy it, but the sales guy told me to test the chieftain but I was hesitant. But after watching this, I think that's probably the bike for me! THanks for the video guys
Well might as well update here. I bought a '24 chieftain DH in black smoke. Getting the air intake, Rinehart slip ons and flared windshield put on. Will be ready to ride off on Thursday :)
I also have a 2016 dyna (low rider) and been trying to figure out if the audio kit for this fairing will work with my bike. Didn’t know if it would work since my bike is older. Do y’all know if it’ll plug in with an older bike like mine or if there just isn’t those plugs since it wasn’t made to have the audio kit installed on it.
Who knows! Kinda hope they never touch the bagger, but I'm sure years from now they'll try something like it. Just don't see any of these electronic bikes as being long mile cruisers.
I have a 2019 bobber and want to upgrade too. Challenger just didn't feel right for me, so will test ride the chieftain tomorrow and if I like it, I'm buying it on the spot.
