Doing this just for the love of music. Promoting great musicians whilst teaching myself how to be happier. I'm not monetised in any way, so I will always be promoting songs, albums or bands that I believe in. I'm not chasing views or subscribers either so you can be sure that I'm only featuring artists based on their material - I don't care whether it will generate traffic, I just want more people to become aware of releases by great musicians.
If you like anything by any artists I feature, please support them by buying from their bandcamp, from your local music emporium or by streaming the living s**t out of it on Spotify / Apple. Also, if they are a touring band, please support live music. If you like the music I recommend then please like, subscribe, and just say hi. Love to chat with like-minded people.
Maynard has been really upping his vocals recently. This goes to all those who have complained over and over. Covid DID do some lung damage as Maynard said!! He recovered by staying healthy and is BACK!!! 😮

In a comment under this music video Chris shared very interesting insight on how he shot it by himself and what it ment for him. Love IAMX, some his songs are are the most emotional music I've ever heard. Volatile Times, The Alternative and The Unified Field - these albums are perfection
Hopefully they've been spending the 3 years since this recording a full album with vocals on it because the response to this song is incredible. Everybody that hears it falls in love with it.
I first heard this a couple a months back and forgot about it until I watched metalbirb and found it again this song is so god and just makes me emotional❤
They were the first band I picked for my Songs You Must Hear playlist when I started this channel nearly one year ago. That was Dust Cloud. You're lucky having them as friends as that must mean you live close enough to catch a live show. Thanks for listening and commenting. 🤘
@@sophomoreslumpmusicandvideonope I was the only music reviewer to support their music and started the trend for others to listen to them, been supporting these guys since history and GSTK
@@sophomoreslumpmusicandvideo I’m in Canada, so an even lower chance of them doing a show here, unless they grow much bigger. I do hope the upcoming album does well for them
We were lucky in Manchester. I think it's the only time they've played it so far on the European dates. It's always been my favourite song for them to close with.
@@sophomoreslumpmusicandvideo It is a banger, but Aenima was the song that got me into TOOL. To be honest I was just glad to see them, the van broke down in Bristol when they last came to the UK and I was left in tears.

@@mahogany174 Yeah. To be honest there's no bad options. I've seen them open with Stinkfist a few times and that worked really well in that slot in the set. I love Jambi but was surprised they opened with it, as it's a slowburn start but it was immense.
Tool, APC and Puscifer have all been employing the rule that phones can be used to capture the last song, whenever I've seen them. Apart from in the early days where phones were so shit that it wasn't worth trying to capture anything.
Great upload brother, thank you. Living in Australia, i don't think i will get to experience this. What a night huh, good for you brother. The images on the screens in the style of their videos are epic. Tool are boss.

Love Tool. Will always love Tool. My only critique is that their guitar section is quite unremarkable, but that is to be expected coming from a rhythm oriented band.\m/
Yeah, they've definitely always been about the drums, bass & vocals. I quite like his attitude towards guitar though. Most guitarists like to be the main feature, but he just sees himself as part of the whole. Although that talkbox/guitar solo in Jambi is always a standout moment.
@@sophomoreslumpmusicandvideo yeah, Adam has his own thing and that is cool. Oh, man.. when undertow dropped the first thing that stood out and grabbed me by the ear was Paul D'Amour's bass tone. Of course that led me down the Tool rabbit hole and straight to Opiate. That album will give anyone a facelift. 🦻👏
@@Lycurgus1982 Fuck yeah. Paul was a beast with that dirty Rick tone and was a great stage presence too. I love Justin and what he's brought to the band but the Paul-era stuff is still my favourite period. My favourite bass noise ever was the sound of Paul hitting stage divers who'd stood on his pedals with his weighty Rickenbacker 🤣
Gad you enjoyed it. Rosetta Stoned, Sweat & Flood being added to the set this time made my night. The sound was the best I've heard in the AO although I don't like going there as a venue - too big and too expensive.
@sophomoreslumpmusicandvideo definitely, I usually steer clear of big venues with expensive tickets, though this time it was justified. Usually go to small venues in and around Glasgow
@@tok1964 Yeah, there was something special about the set in Manchester. Maybe I'd just drunk the correct amount? Maybe they were even better than usual. It was a great evening. What's that great venue in Glasgow that's a converted church? Love that place.
Having seen them at Brixton and Hammersmith in the 00’s, I can’t bring myself to do an arena show but have to admit that the visuals are better but I would still prefer to see them in a smaller venue.
I've seen them three times in arenas now. First time was 10,000 Days on their second round of dates. That was really good, amazing set and seeing them do Wings For Marie / 10,000 Days with lasers all over the place was tremendous. Second Time was first round of FI Dates. That was good but I was seriously considering not going again because of atmosphere and cost. This year I resigned myself to saying goodbye to Tool live shows and then they put on an amazing show and pulled out songs like Sweat and Flood. But I agree with you that small shows are better. I'm just glad I got to see them a few times in small venues in the early 90s. No fancy light shows but Maynard and Paul were brilliant to watch close up in those days.
Cheers man. 🍺As a fellow "mature" person. Do you also miss the old days with Paul? I love what they've turned into, but those early shows were mind-blowing and really intense. Although my favourite ever show was 2006 in London on 10,000 Days tour. It was like being in the rave in Zion in Matrix Reloaded. First time I heard Rosetta Stoned live and that was immense.
@@sophomoreslumpmusicandvideo they played Rosetta Stone in Allentown. Whish i could hear Flood live. This was my first time seeing them and next time they are within a few hundred miles I'm going again and take my son. I really liked Undertow when it came out and then I bought Opiate. Lost interest for about 10 years but got back into them and now it's either Tool or audiobooks. Most other bands are just so repetitive. You should check out "Lucid Planet" they are from Australia and pretty good
They make out like their all anti-rock star but they are still applause whores 🤣 Was a great version of it though. Glad they switched it in place of Stinkfist, which is great but not as good to close a set.
@@sophomoreslumpmusicandvideo yeah Ok Mr. Hooker with a Penis. Of course they sincerely appreciate the love after all these years and they show it deeply after each and every show. Any Metal band has true affection and respect for their fans unlike your wannabe punk boy bands, country music stars, and god knows the voice synth machine generated pop music... all said, so happy you witnessed arguably one of the absolute best rock bands over the last 40 years. I'm jealous - but on my way to Berlin now for the 8 June show.
Im a teen, this was my first concert! Frickin loved it!! Maynards' vocals are awesome, and it was a really new experience for me! Hopefully i can see them again sometime
Great way to start your concert experiences. Glad you enjoyed it so much. They were on fire last night. My advice as an old sod is try and get to as many concerts as you can at the smaller venues. I see loads of bands for £8-£20 and as much as possible try and check out support bands. You end up seeing bands who end up charging a lot more money in a few years time and playing in bigger venues that aren't as cool.
what a first gig, these are one of the most legendary live bands ever, flawless!! I had to miss them and I'm absolutely gutted. They may never ever return knowing Tool.
@mtb-mania yeah unfortunately, since they are getting older. But you never know, they might do some more. they're my favourite band, so I'm glad I could have experienced it before it was too late
I love Maynard's vocal performance. Some nice little new inflexions and melody runs dotted through it. Better show than the last AO Arena date in 2022. Pity they couldn't have fit in Intolerance as well as Sweat though.
@sophomoreslumpmusicandvideo Oddly enough I'm not a fan of those songs and would have taken them out of the set. We all like different things I suppose
