The 3-string is GDG ues. The strings that come with the 4-string are intended for GDGB. However, it could be restrung with other tunings such as Chicago Tenor (DGBE) or even Octave Mandolin (GDAE).
All of the electronics being fully pre-wired, with the builder only having to connect a couple of bullet connectors, is what made this one more expensive. You could certainly save a good bit by buying all of the components separately and doing it yourself... but some folks appreciate the convenience. To each their own!
Do you any videos that show just playing someclean tones or sometype of blues. I like the amp in the guitar idea. I’m old and been thru the hard rock, years ago. Thanks.
Thanks for the video. I design my own 3D printable 3 string guitars, so I might just incorporate this neck into a future design. Plastic body, wooden neck.
Shane, I had this idea, wondered if it was possible, and found this detailed tutorial! I love my canjo so much. It inspired me to start playing dulcimer. Now, when I pick up my canjo, I imagine what it would be like to add a couple of strings... Off I go!
Happy Birthday, Shane! I'm glad you liked the instrument I built for you! Folks can see the video of my discussion of this instrument and can see the instrument at the Republic of Texas Cigar Box Guitar Festival on my RU-vid channel.
Hey. I recognize that guitar. 😝 The timing is kinda odd but my performance video will go live on Sunday (I always post the Sunday morning CBG covers). You'll see my involvement with adding extra mojo to that beauty. Steve did an amazing job on this build. Happy birthday my man! 🎁
Imagine practicing on this amp, then someone offers you to try out a Deluxe. You plug in, and hate it from the first note, because "it's too soft; I like it rough!" 😂
