Everything you need to know about injuries, particularly as it relates to the NRL. Home of the Magic Sponge Podcast - the miracle cure for all your rugby league injury issues!
My best year in both Supercoach and Fantasy and my first year listening to you guys. No tin foil hat conspiricy here - thanks guys, your injury assessments have influenced my selections and thus my rankings.
They do check the boots during the warm up but it’s really quick like literally just going around for a Quick Look …the ref in the storm game finished his warm up and mov3d around all the players
You couldn't really call it checking, I've seen them do it and they might as well not even bother. Maybe they're quickly looking to see if anyone is wearing ice skates or something because they're definitely not having a close look.
I captained Drinky as a pod play, kill me now!! Had the VC on Cleary but im not taking his poxy score, Drinky will pump the Broncos and go LARGE i said 😢 How long is the recovery for a chewed nose?
I was looking into kotonis stats from last year at the start of the season for supercoach... he had some ridiculously low average of (can't remember so estimate) 10 runs for 100 metres and 15 tackles a game with roughly 10 tries in the year. He was averaging 4 tackle busts a game though. Just not involved in the game enough to rack up points consistently.
Great podcast as always thanks guys! I’m a Kini owner…. (Fantasy Draft with lockout thursday) AJ named 18th man again- with your fantasy hat on- would you hold Kini and gamble or pick up another wfb?
Might be nothing but with the Sorensen one, Cleary turns him underneath and Cleary gets knocked underneath him. He looked a bit ginger afterwards. About 10mins into the game
I’ll go into bat for Seibold (I’m a manly fan). I just think that if reuben Garrick can play out the full set and no one notices anything obvious, and then run off the field and gesture that he thinks he’s fine then surely you just give him a chance to pass because if he has a concussion he will fail anyway and it’s the same outcome. It’s particularly frustrating when Laurie is motionless even by the time multiple replays of the try had been shown and then is assisted off the field but is deemed cat 2. I agree that Garrick showed symptoms but not anywhere close to Laurie so you must be able to see where Seibold is coming from pointing out the inconsistencies that potentially had a huge outcome on us being in the top 4.
Understand your passion mate but quite a bit off base here. Players who have been knocked unconscious have passed their HIA (Reece Walsh after getting knocked out in Origin a recent example) so the thought “he will fail the test anyway if concussed” isn’t an accurate statement. I agree Laurie was pretty clearly displaying symptoms of concussion on field, but the argument should always be “how did they not deem that Category 1” rather than “why can’t they make a mistake with Garrick too”. I think there’s a lot of solid arguments against the way the HIA process is run, the Garrick incident is just one of the worst examples I’ve seen to try and do so
@@NRLPhysioIf Walsh passed after that then it is completely understandable that you can’t just let them do a test and see if they pass. I still think the examples from the weekend show inconsistencies which sucks as a fan and obviously as a coach. it will be great if we get to the point where it’s objective to identify concussion.
Great start in Mixer for me at 561 pending Kelly and Pelite update. Taufa actually updated to 67 (stats were broken for first 20 mins when she scored) Everyone probably going to be on Pelite vs Tigers but tempted by POD Upton or Berry
@@NRLPhysiorewatching highlights Berry was probably unlucky to not score more and did good job to save score and get 60+. Winger butchered a try assist and got tackled before a LB when she would have been 1-on-1. Cowboys were terrible v Sharks and as bad as Tigers Saw another good POD mentioned for NRLW Dragons with Alexis Tauaneui - played 70 mins and usually does. Similar stats to Hale with more second phase and 0.2% owned
For Bundy Mixer you have to go Men HOK and HLFs and NRLW CTR and then the rest are fluid. Currently got Mahoney/Cook, Hale (B), Koloamatangi, Cleary (B), Kelly, Pelite but Kernick and NRL WFB definitely in my thoughts Taufa is coming off an injury as far as I know
Totally disagree with you on sending Hammer back out. Mentally winning the second half so important. Your mentality of putting the cue in the rack because it was 34-0 at half time is the opposite of what is needed for Origin.
No confirmation from the Eels yet mate, there’s a wide range of possibilities. I had hoped initially he would be back this week, but they said they were weighing up treatment options last week which didn’t sound great
