Listening this baby boomer talk about his privileged life. I'm at US Xpress literally making the EXACT SAME CPM as him in 2024 as he was making in 2011
Amazing video interview, truly enjoyed it. I was thinking of looking into DOD freight hauling. Is this a team only gig or do they hire solo? Will Bennett hire as a company driver or only O/O? How many years do they require? You all seem so nice and my kind of people, people I'd like to know! Thank you Virginia and Marlin for the transparency and honesty. Hope to see you out on the road someday. Be safe! David Naster, Decker Truck Lines, #3991
I believe they favor team operators for DOD. That said, they may be able to partner you with someone compatible. I'll look out for a Decker truck and wave!
Sorry to comment again, but this is so real, I did a lot of my life trucking in a Colorado mountain town, Red Mountain one way, Wolf Creek east out , lizard head further west, when he talked about where and how they were loaded , on top of a mountain on a goat trail old logging road barely enough road to get in , to getting hung up in closed roads due to blizzards , or ice storms, etc. producers running just 6 more on to clean up the pen , 15,000 over and up. Running 150 miles around the coups As a rule the most honest group in trucking. May shoot ya or thump ya if you’re out of line, I,m referring to the middle age guys and up as a rule, but trucking in the Montana south to the gulf, I met some outstanding young men in bull hauling, 45 years for me in a truck, not over the road anymore, mainly regional, those mile markers are 5 miles apart now for me seemingly, I occasionally run a load or make a run for the family, and work full time regional, but I’m a kind of a whiny old guy now after 600 miles lol. Great channel and thanks driver , as I said, in my opinion as real as it gets.
Sounds like you know what the real deal is, driver - I saw Russ yesterday, wrenching on his own to get Lost Cause back out on the highway. I've encouraged him to check in on this channel to answer some of the honest comments that come his way. I'm just the messenger - please don't shoot! Keep safe hand.
Absolutely great interview, this should be watched by all young drivers, I had a load of canners that were way to light, one got down about 4 hours before the yard. Got her up, then down again. Well after a few of the up and down deal , I get there and unload, she is laid out, looked gone , well , I inspect her , her hair had froze to the floor , I started pulling on her and realized she was alive, so I got her loose for the most part, she had the strength to pull herself loose and she was certainly angry lol. I avoided the hooking and she found the ramp. This is one of the best I’ve ever seen
This is one of the coolest interviews I’ve ever seen! I love the dynamic between these two guys. Solid salt 🧂 of the earth kind of guys . ❤❤🎉🎉 …much respect
What's awesome about your operation is that you knew from day one a day like this could come, and you planned for it even with T2000. You went conservative with finances and kept and planned savings for maintenance. Not many OO plans for this and buy a new truck thinking there won't be any maintenance for first 3-4 years. I think your thread on TTR is a must for anyone looking to start out and should be taught in Schools, if we had such a thing so people don't keep ruining finances and dreams. Thank you Blair. You are good guy.
Blair you have a talent. You can always start podcasting after you retire from Trucking. Btw, why don't you get "old man" for interview....I remember reading your thread where he had quiet a bit of knowledge he shared with you.
@@theshowmekiwitrucker2237 Thanks for replying and look forward to more videos from you. I know this is not your job like other youtubers, but your content is so much better and informational! Thanks and take care!!

That critter in the middle looks like a Squid. An Airedale Squid at that. The Worst of the Worst ! Tell 'em Mooska said so. ..... still lookin' fer my hoofs by the way. I'd appreciate it if y'all could keep your eyes peeled and lemme know if ya see 'em. Thanks !
