I remember seeing Chaka Khan at The Palace Hollywood on New Years's Eve 1986, and this was her opening song. Chaka emerged onto the stage through billowing smoke and the percolating opening of this song to deliver a sizzling performance. Many Hollywood Stars were in the SRO audience which made for a very festive and memorable night.
Man I don't know what it is about this song but it reminds me of the the malls back in the '80s cuz that's when this song came out and it was playing over the airwaves and I probably heard it in there too you know I might even have seen some of you in some of the malls I've been in walking around there's this one small Mall out in New York a little town called Olean I used to hang out at that mall there in the a lot during the '80s this song used to always come on out there maybe some of you were in that mall too and we've been in lots of malls but that was back in during the time of the big hair everybody dressed up everybody had really nice haircuts it was an amazing time I was only in my twenties then now I'm 59
Bought the Video when it came out here and have been searching for this on you tube for years, Wonderful version . Love Snuffy's guitar work and Jon Moss too ... As it said in the video packaging. "When Chaka sings angels cry" Thanks for this
On another note: let me just say, ma'girl is on top of her game here. Her backup & accomplishment are in no way falling short on gheir job. This is HOT & ON POINT. Always on time!
It'd be good not to have the camera flash on so many things within seconds. It's a Chaka concert, but I feel like the camera focuses on her mostly in wide angle at a distance. Is this a particular style of cinematography or maybe by request? I'm guessing I'm not nearly as savvy as I'd thought 15min ago. (the ol bubble burst 😟)

That Scatting is a tour de force, this is actually live in 85/86 in London s Hammer-smith, it is a great show but I don't think its available full length anymore. BTW - on the song A'nint Nobody- Jon Moss from Culture Club plays the drums,
Thank you for your interested comment. I have this live video. Jon Moss probably played percussions on the song of Ain't Noboy. If you request this song, I can upload the part of video here.
