You missed the Spiteful Chant! Seems like it got removed due to sample clearing problems, which is a shame, because it affects the latter half of the album (Chapter Ten is now the ninth song of the album, No Make-Up's mention of eleven doesn't connect properly to Keisha's Song because it's now the tenth song, etc).
The two will documentary bar was also a reference to the games album “The Documentary” where he’s sitting on a wheel and another wheels leanining against it
It’s not about Drake being black. Kendrick is not questioning that because he’s biracial but because how he moves particularly within black culture. This black/white argument has been a huge misunderstanding & distraction throughout this whole thing. Yes Rick Ross says that but Kendrick is coming from a totally different, in depth angle.
Yall on the right track with the electrify and pacify bar. But not quite on point. KDot saying drakes music is what keeps the people content and his music is what sparks an uproar.
Just some backstory/context for the bars starting around 14:39... the bars relating to a tech 9 gun are referencing the battle rapper Tech 9, who was a pioneer of the culture. He passed away around 2018/19 not long before this battle, from suicide. He was beloved in the culture, but shortly after he died, it was revealed he possessed child pron, and its widely assumed he took his own life to avoid going to prison for his crimes. So when surf says theres "bodies on this tech 9" hes also alluding to the people (or children) that rapper might have harmed/taken advantage of. And then to say "spit on the baby with the tech"... Well you can figure that out. him saying "stop disrespecting the dead" and "you die and become a battle bar" is about people who dont like tech 9 being referenced or made of, and surf is saying he doesnt care it doesnt matter how important you are or what happened to you, you can still get these bars. Felt like i should break that down cause it seems like you only understood on the surface level
And the reason why you say it's hard to get Kendrick and understand all the time..... Because you guys are brought up on Drake's pacifying music. And down south is not very lyrical... There are always about the tight beats. . So you weren't trained with the hearing of lyrical rappers that have something to say actually substantial. Again that's not your fault you didn't have a chance in the era you grew up in
Bro lol...... I sat through that whole damn videos I deserve the right to have a comment heard. No I just wanted to say I appreciate you recognizing and giving credit where credit is due. But I'll just tell you your generation was robbed true hip hop. Drake is not hip Hop... He's pop. Your generation doesn't even know the difference anymore. Next. I know you not trying to say that the down south rappers are better rapping than the West Coast? You crazy as hell if you think that. If you're just saying that's what you're used to and it's hard to hear something different, I get that. But that just shows how basic elementary rappers are down south compared to the West Coast that have lyrics. Not to mention the down south stole the style from the West Coast with the whole beats. The music you can ride dance whatever to.... Y'all got that from us. Way back in the day. Or shall I say the legend Dr Dre... West Coast by the way. Can't blame you too much your generation was just blinded and lost. Cuz when you were growing up you had a bunch of crap to idolize compared to what we know from the West Coast hitters Legends.
Your point at the end is so true. Hanging around pedophiles and predatory people alone makes him look very suspicious. Like the only people down with that behavior are people who think alike
