How about this: my cat's litter box is in the same room as my desktop computer (no other place). I hook up a camera to a raspberry pi, and using a motion sensor, some number of seconds after my cat is done, the pi would tell a mains power filter/fan to run for a set amount of time?

I have 5V power supply capable of delivering 10A and still getting that undervoltage issue. Common answer on this is to get "official cable" and "official power supply" which is 5.1V. Also the issue with backpowering from powered usb-hub is really annoying and I am unable to solve it :(
