I need to take out this amount of excess fabric but I don’t want a seam on the pants. Is my only option to take the excess from the back side seams in this case? Could I manipulate the pattern like the horizontal fish eye? I hope that’s clear!
Oh my! Glenda mentioned a woman using a walker and being hunched over. I use a walker and oh! My back is hunched over too...🤪 I forget I'm a senior citizen 😂 I'll have to adjust my pattern 👍 great video ❤
I have this exact machine. I really love it. It does a beautiful job on super stretchy fabrics like swimwear & aerobic wear. Amazingly the seams are super stretchy with using regular polyester/cotton thread. It also has differential feed adjustments for any type of knit fabrics. So far has worked great on anything I have tried.
This is such a wonderful tutorial. I also have a forward shoulder on my right side and am now eager to try this method in my pattern drafting to attain a better fitting sleeve and bodice. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!
Thanks a lot for this video. As a matter of fact I do need to make 2 more changes in my pattern due to sort of a "hollow" chest that comes along with this stupid shoulder bone wich sticks out 🙄 I need to scoop the front armhole out a little bit, right after the new shoulder point, and also need to make curve which goes under the arm prominenter. Corresponding changes have to be made at the sleeve.
For the first time ever, I have found out after 25 years of sewing what a cover stitch is. I had no idea I could by an overlocker which did that until I watched The Great British Sewing Bee programme. Your video is so helpful.
I always had problems sewing Princess seams, then around 13 years ago I came across someone who clips the central panel, I rarely have the problem now. The tip doesn’t just help Princess seams, it can also be used on normal/strapless etc bodice’s, it helps tremendously, especially when it is for a very large bust. There are very few seamstresses, dress makers who show this method, thank you for showing it 🙂🙂 Stay stitching is so important when stitching on the bias, especially around the top of a strapless bodice. I have seen quite a few people scratching their heads, wondering why the bias cut edge has suddenly lengthened, sometimes it can help you, but mostly it can send you mad!
I am considerably larger where my leg folds are my high hip is only a few inches different from my waist. what can I do (with Sewing) to lift my main basketball protrusion on my left size.
Hi Glenda. Where your two white strips are around your hips. I am trying to make a pair of pants. When I try them on the back where your two strips are. my pants sample digs in me there. Can u tell me why this is happening? My crotch length is the same as yours and my BUTT is super FLAT TOO.
Hi Glenda. Can you help me with a question? On one of your videos you measured yourself and my measurements is the same as yours. The butt is flat so is mine very flat. The crouch length 26 so is mine? but there’s one problem I am having. from the top of the back on your diagram of the crotch. you show the top crouch back that line that goes down before it makes the curve that straight part keeps digging me in my butt and I can’t figure out why it keeps digging me in the butt .is it because MY BUTT IS SUPER FLAT??
When measuring your across front ( arm crease to arm crease) does the tape curve over and around the upper chest for the measurement, or do you hold it straight out from right to left, Not wrapping around the flesh at the upper outer chest? Thanks for the tutorial!
Hi Glenda - your videos are always so very helpful, especially when one is learning to draft patterns. I was just wondering if the difference in length from the shoulder to waist taken over the fullest part of bust at front and then from shoulder down to waist at the back may be helpful. For example my front length is 17.25 inches and my back length is 16 inches. So to make the side seams match for length I would plan to make my side bust dart 1.25 inches wide. Have found this to be workable for me, but wasn't sure if all body shapes may benefit from this suggestion.
