this is absolutely mind blowing footage. the fact they're sat there in hospital with their fingers and noses essentially dead and are so calmly recalling the story is fucking wild to me.
@@BeelzeKid an interesting question. I’d love my fingers and toes back, but have learned so much about myself and my life since, that it’s a difficult choice…
It's a really weird thing...on one hand we hear about people successfully doing some insane feat of adventuring and we think 'what a wonderful achievement!', but when it all goes wrong we think 'You idiot, why the hell would you do this, obviously mother nature doesn't want you there!'. That's not really fair. So I won't judge people who put themselves in harm's way because it could be argued that sitting behind a desk or driving a truck around all day is harmful to your health too. You just don't get a cool story to tell. Heh!
ive had a fascination with dry gangrene frostbite survivors, especially those who still climb! if this were me, id be too traumatized to get back climbing ever. bravo to you, sir :)
I hope they had insurance to pay our NHS for hospital care. Then there is talk of a next time.... make sure you pay private for beds, as this is self inflicted injuries. Caro
When younger i drove a car straight into a telephone pole. My legs and groin collided with the steering wheel and became the exact same black color as their frostbite. Eventually however, the color dissipated and i have even had several children since the accident. One man spoke of losing his toes and fingers, im just confused why it wont heal with time.
You guys are lucky to be alive and indicated in the video you wanted to go back for more? None of what you did was necessary or required to begin with. You've disabled and disfigured yourselves attempting a task that never needed to be done. I don't know what to say other than you guys are morons and thanks for the entertainment? I'd be embarrassed to post this.
Amazing story! Dont you love it when YT randomly shows you a video from 13yrs ago you've never seen?! My father in law was a runner and did the 3 peaks challenge here in the UK, his team came first for their age range, 50+! A huge achievement. Bless this man, glad you survived! Worcestershire, UK. 🇬🇧
What an amazing group of friends. This wouldn’t have had such an outcome if these men didn’t genuinely care about each other. It blows my mind seeing what proper motivation can accomplish, and the most proper of motivations is what we can do when life is on the line. They really took such amazing care of each other. I’m just gobsmacked 😶
Hanging on by a thread and the first thing they talk about is the view...... unbelievable! These men were born to climb. I have so much respect for them.
Just now getting recommended this video, it was amazing. Were you able to try climbing again? The fact that all 3 of you nearly died and at the end of the video still wanted to climb again was inspiring.
@@nigelvardy Oh, so true! Very glad that y'all survived it all... but I got to tell you that I'm even more amazed by the fact that y'all even made it up there in the first place considering those huge balls of extra-hard steel. Haha! Cheers and take care!
