A couple of lads in rural Ireland trying to save cars that really probably had no right to be saved. Join us as we share our mistakes and hopefully, maybe, teach you something you didn't know. From working on cars to informative car historical videos, if it's got wheels, we got it!
Wherher it us a w116 or w123 these cars are known to be indestructable since tbese cars, are to be taxis with over a million miles and still going strong .
What has the sea got to do with the rust 😂. Did the previous owner drive it on the beach ? It's road salt that kills cars never buy one from a scotchland
My GTI 16v was a barnfind and has been still for TWELVE years! When I got it, it was starting like nothing happened to it. Sure, I didnt drive with it like that, I quickly changed oil and other stuff, but the sick part was that it WORKED. I really want to keep my 16v forever, its a very fun car.
I remember trading cartons of cigarettes for all the parts you could carry out of a scrapyard in Germany. Good luck finding front end parts for Mercedes, they are faster but don’t slow faster 😂
That straight six engine is excellent. Had that engine in a 74 coupe and in a 76 SE with mechanical fuel injection. Higher revving, dohc and dual exhaust
2.5 tdi came in 3 flavours in the uk too. I believe your van is 2001 model. My t4 was called shit stain because it had some form of horrible brown creosote substitute spilled over the paswanger seat by the previous owner.
I would’ve turn back home and take the loss instead of even trying to come close to that piece of junk. Whomever dare selling that vehicle should be arrested immediately 😮.
I don't know about England, but in Europe it is not always correct. in 99% of cases everything is correct, but in 1% it is not. many sondermodels from 1988, they are marked “19” on the chassis, ce1 electronics etc… but have large windows, updated badges and other 1gz stuff. My 06/88 memphis is one of these.
Just grabbed a W210 300TD estate in France with 133,000 miles. It isn't as bad as you would think but needs a couple of front wings, new o-rings in the fuel lines, gearbox service, engine service, but for 1750 euros I am very happy! Had it been parked there it would have been a pile of cornflakes surrounding and engine and box 🤣
I admire your determination and application and wish you well for the future of this project - as a Mercedes nut I have to say this car is worth saving.
I never liked this model from Mercedes, but so many of them are still everyday drive in East of Europe. And yeah, they rust even on the sun, so 99% of all I've seen have rust issue. This one particularly looks like a parts donor vehicle or parts for sale type of vehicle.
Better idea. Dump the antiques roadshow bosch jetronic for a 350 chev. Sure its a bit more work but 350 chevs are everywhere. Moral of the story dont buy a car sight unseen.
@@427Motorsports you have heard of speed shack in the UK? if not pay to look on the internet. i hear the internets a new thing now with all the kids...
Yo, I enjoyed this video. Thanks! Can you please tell me which music tracks were used for both the first GT2 lap, and then the comparison two-frame portion? Love those OST songs, and cant remember which ones they were. Great use of them in your video!
Thanks so much for your comment!! The one for the first lap is west city - french and Italian cars. The one on the comparison is actually the theme song from DRIV3R. Cheers!
@@427Motorsports Thanks for the reply. I did end up finding the West City track. I would not have gathered the DRIV3R, so cheers for that! You actually inspired me to buy the GT2 & 3 OST CDs from Japan. Sub'd, cheers!
Loved this video. Had a real adventure feel about it, whilst also a good criac with your mates. Looking forward to seeing what happens next with the W123. Hopefully not a Coke can. 😁
There might be a 300D in Girvan...i bought a 1977 W123 in Uluru Australia...1000 bux...fuel line..battery....3000kms to melbourne...blew both rear tyres on the way...same rims as yours...bonus..same as a Ford Falcon...good job lads...
All credit to you for taking on a W123 with more rust than the Titanic. I had zero expectation it would even move let alone start so the fact that you managed both was epic!
@@427Motorsports just got to the end, top soundtrack throughout. The usual GT menu tracks are impossible to beat, but gta3 & 4 and Planet Caravan were a lovely change to usual youtube music other channels use.
@mattteee2973 thank you so much! We honestly love picking out music for our videos, probably as much as making the video itself. Copyright makes things a pain but video game soundtracks and covers usually help us get away with our vision. Cheers, that means a lot!
Parked for ten years he said more like 20 but for £150 the wheels and tyres are worth more money then that I can see that being alot more rotten underneath I would carryed on with it being left on the trailer till you got it back home even if its to far gone you have plenty of parts to keep or sell on
But where would be the adventure and craic in that? 🤪 we took the gamble because it was so stupidly cheap. People spend more than that on a shite holiday and we had a great time 😀
just found you're channel and have subbed but being a Scottish and living in Scotland there is no way you are covered in sunburn. weather beating I can understand but sunburnt I'm not having it lol
